So this is something I have wonder about recently. When it come to character creation, we pretty much create that character anyway we want other than the best portrayal of our real self (well few people do). It make me wonder would you played a game were the game custom character/ avatar look exactly like you?
Yes I am aware that is possible to do that in the game in the present (the whole face mapping in certain games or very detail character creation that let you adjust the weight and length) but what I'm talking about is the whole character from head to toe look exactly like you?
Here is the scenario-
In the future, they had come up with a technology that when you played a game with character creation, the tech can scan your face and your entire body (no need to get nude) and it will render it perfectly onto the game with no lag or error what so ever (this also saved time spend on adjusting the size/ weight of the character).
Also any game clothing/ armour/ weapons will fit accordingly onto you e.g. any bulky armour look like it will fit (yes this include skimpy/ tight clothing).
Before you asked, the said game can be anything you want it to be (I was going to limit this to MMO or rpg but that's rather plain) and the appearance will suit the graphic (if the game is cartoony then you will look cartoony in it).
Sure this will eliminate the whole playing the opposite gender to yours and the whole alter ego (if there are flaws on you then it will show up in the game) but at the same time it would be an whole new experience and a different take on avatars and the game (for one thing when you encounter another character online then that person look like the real person playing as that character). This would both be good and bad (you will see kids running about and female gamers may get harass depending how lawful the game are on harassment).
On a side note, since I know not everyone will like that idea/ concept, I'm also going to throw in the above scenario that someone/ group had made a mod/ hacked version that still allow you create the character anyway you want.
As for me, I would like to try it out. I have no problem the way I looked (I ain't handsome nor am I ugly) and it would be cool seeing myself wearing fantasy medieval armours or Commander Shepard N7 armour and etc. In saying so sometime I made the character in character creation to resemble me abit (mainly the face, ethnic and hairstyle).
