I wear glasses to watch tv, game, look at distances etc. but most of the time I don't wear them.

I quite like having selective vision & choosing what I want to see in detail.

95% of the time I can quite happily function with the world being blurry at a distance.

I have glasses, but I only need them for viewing things at a distance. So I really only use them for driving and in class when I'm stuck in the back of the room and can't read the writing on the board.

My eye-sight is actually better than 20/20 some how. I can read the bottom lines of an eye chart and etcetera. I guess that means I'm better than everyone. Or that I am some sort of next-generation evolutionary phase in the human race.

Which is cool also.

My vision is actually above normal. It's weird because everyone in my family wears glasses but I don't need to. well, for now at least.

Contacts are way too much hassle. Glasses are better. It wrecks if you get a bit of dust or something underneath them when you put them in, but they are great for skiing and snorkeling. Without contacts I couldn't see the fishies.

Glasses atm, tried contacts once but hated them, gave up after 2 weeks using them, getting them again tomorrow because I look better without glasses, as soon as I get the money I'm having surgery done.

Also isn't there a certain per cent of failures with eye surgery?
Probably, if you go with the back alley budget optomotrist. I did my research and had the best doctor I could find, perform the surgery. The whole process is so advanced that I could probably run the machines and not fuck it up.

I mean, when they run the lazer they tell you not to blink and I asked the doctor, "What happens if I do." to which he said, "Nothing really. The machine detects every movement of your iris and your eyelid so you could technically not be in this neck harness and blinking and it would work... but there's no point in chancing it and we take all possible precautions when dealing with someones eyesight."

You can see perfect, instantly after the surgery... but for the whole day if feels like somebody rubbed human shit in your eyes and you aren't allowed to touch them for at least 6-9 months. Just drug up and pass out, you'll feel like a sniper in the morning.

Way to jinx it. Just wait, in the next month or two, you'll need glasses. And not just any glasses, coke-bottles. You know, huge, black frames with the glass part about an inch thick.

Glasses. I tried contacts when I first needed glasses a few years ago, but really struggled with them. Kept poking my eyes out, rubbing them really hard, couldn't find/touch the lense, it was a nightmare. Glasses are a pain too, with my helmet. Laser surgery is an option, my sister had it and she says it's the best thing she's ever done and always tells me to do it. I just think I'll look even uglier without glasses than I do with glasses.

Glasses. My receipt says my vision is -7.0, not sure what that means exactly... but I can't see anything clearly without glasses unless it's right in front of my eyes.

Glasses for me! Cheap and easy, stress free. I don't think I could do contacts after some of the horror stories I've heard.

Heh, I think its Brian Regan does a bit in his act about how we place our eyesight so far down our priorities. Ah I need a checkup the letter says, I haven't been for 6 years... I'll do that later, I've gotta read yesterday's paper again, seeing can wait!

I'm short sighted, but I only really need glasses when playing games, watching a movie, reading the board etc. Even so, I still have the best eyesight in my family.
