I never have (damn Canadian gun laws), but I would like to.

My favourite weapon is the Bow, such majesty in firing those things.
But... it doesn't make a loud "BOOM!" :(

Air rifles, shotguns, laser rifles (no really, on a very geeky testbed for a 'new' type of clay pigeon shooting back in the day)

You know, come to think of it... if the zombies ever do show up... Europe is just SCREWED. No guns, no will to act (except in Glasgow maybe), and the politicians will be calling for dialouge instead of fighting.
Especially England. That was like their special talent, to talk instead of take action, through like WWII
First off, that kind of generalization will get you far in life mate as you should indulge yourself in a bit of reading of Switzerland's gun laws for instance. And as for the UK, yes almost everybody and their mum's (farmer's mums included) are packing in countryside farm estates. No handguns doesn't mean no firearms of any kind period.

And to the other? All I have to say to that is "U-571" Cookie on me if you can figure out the meaning behind that one ^_-

I've actually applied for my H1 license, which grants me the ability to fire weapons unsupervised, and will likely apply for my owner's license, if a year or so of firing range pistols proved to be of enough interest to me, and buy my own to store at home.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm in Australia - the US's slightly older and much cooler brother. You know, the one that everyone prefers to hang out with and go to the pub with.
Holy cow, that's a lot of stuff to go through just to get a gun. Here, as long as you're mentally fit you can own a gun. Handguns have higher restrictions, but needing a license to even fire unsupervised? That's tough.

I'm miffed over the procedure required to buy a pistol here in Michigan in the US; I have to go to the law enforcement center to get a permit to purchase, then I have to go buy, then I have to take the gun to the LEC again to finish the registration. Oh and they're only open when I'm at work so I'd have to take time off.

Anyway, I have fired guns but all I own is a pellet rifle. So far I've fired several .22s, a 9mm Glock 17, a 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P, a .38 magnum revolver I don't recall who made, a 410 shotgun, a 16 and a 20-gauge shotgun. Shooting skeet is a lot of fun.

I'm planning on purchasing a Walther PP99 since the grip is so wonderful to me and it's in a useful caliber.

Yes, I've shot rifles, handguns, and shotguns. All at targets. Almost had a shot while turkey hunting, but my shotgun hit a branch on a bush while I was raising it and alerted the turkey.

Good ol' MO, USA.

I have fired a Glock 19, a .22 rifle, a .38 snub nose revolver, and a AR-15. I have used all of them to some good extent except the AR-15. I wish I had more time to go to the range because I really do enjoy getting some trigger time, it also keeps me in practice. If you haven't guessed from the avatar I am American, Georgia to be specific.

Well, I'm an admin for the Gun Nuts group, and quite the enthusiast. Among my collection is an AK-47, SKS, Mosin-Nagant, Mossberg 500, 2 Lee Enfields, and various hunting guns.

I posted some pictures in This thread if you want to see them (I think they're somewhere around page 5).

P.S. Did I mention the Gun Nuts group yet?

I love my .40 Taurus, I shoot that sucker as often as I can (at targets, no living targets at this point). It's good stuff know and it's a fucking blast to do! I'd rather know how to use it in the right situation than to be a total moron when it comes to being in a live-fire situation.

I live in the US by the way and no I'm not some crazed "redneck" just because I own a gun and know well how to use it.
I don't think that's the objection people tend to have, it's not that have a gun makes you a 'crazed redneck', it's more that fact that being a crazed redneck isn't a hindrance to actually acquiring a gun.
So long as they're using it for home protection then I have no problem with any sane person owning a weapon.

I live in California. My dad owns a shotgun (blanks only though). I've shot BB guns and my grandfather makes older styles of guns in Washington state (think musket).

Fired one, didn't own it. My school had a CCF, and I was in it, and once a year we'd all go on a field day and shoot antiquated bolt-action rifles.

(They were pretty crap you guys)

Also, for the sake of the poll, I live in the UK.

Why yes I have. I have shot a 1911, a 22. luger style pistol, an Mp5,a few 30-06's, a revolver, a glock, and my favorite, a sawed off double barrel.

And I am Good ol'fashioned American.

Edit: I also remembered shooting a single fire AK and my actual favorite, an M4.

I was shooting my dad's scoped .270 when I put my face too close to the scope. when I squeezed the trigger the scope hit me in the face and cracked my nose. It made a lovely crunching noise for weeks.

From 'Murrika. I own a black powder revolver and a bolt-action .22, and I've fired that, a .38 Special, and a .308 while hunting. I've fired a shotgun (don't remember what model, but it was old), Luger, .44 Magnum, .30-06, MP5, .50 SW, and an AK-47 on the range.

My buddy has a fucking sweet Kimber 1911 but I've never gotten to shoot it.

I live in Canada, I shot a gun while I used to be in Cadets. No I do not own a gun. Perhaps you should include an option for that?
