Prototype. I will buy both because I like killing enemies with lightning but Prototype looks a lot more fun.

If a game ain't on PC it can go frack itself.
Hell yeah!
Doesn't the fact that it is on the PC mean its likely to be an awful game? When was the last time a sandbox console game had a non-horrible port to PC?
GTA: SA.
Even then it crashed occasionally.
Didn't that get screwed over cause they had to purge the entire thing of hot coffee?
That was before my time. I bought it after that whole debacle.
Anyway, the point is, it wasn't a horrible port, save the instability issues (which seem to come with every game nowadays.)
Now we're just extending the definition of bad port. I'm talking about one that was as good as its console equivilant.
GTA IV..but only if you got the hardware that can catch up in ur PC :p

Well, whatever, I'm just saying, even if you discount peoples continual logical failings of saying that the PC is by definition superior to any console, saying a game will be better because a version will be on PC is a majorly dumb thing to say, considering how games on PC's have always acted.
well first of all... you need the hardware to run specific games... like my Duel Core im soon gonna replace with a Core i7... but atm it run games like **** xD
and then there's the normal Blue Screen of Death, Virus, errors and what not to get games to crash on a PC :p but im getting Prototype on PC :) (also because i dont got a PS3 or Xbox... but wouldnt get the game for Consol even if i had one of those ;) i only want a PS3 for 3 Games sake..)

It may be obvious, but Prototype has hooked me more than than inFamous.
Prototype seems to have a lot of variety, a lot of options for play.
inFamous is like "you can be good or evil and... um, there's electrity".

Maybe inFamous just has terrible trailers? Either way, I'm just not impressed by it.

If you're gonna say it that way, Prototype is "You can use blades....yeah".[/quote]

Hey, it's not like inFamous is showcasing much in those trailers. It's a guy hanging from the sides of things and chucking lightning. Someone wake me up when he's done cowering in a corner from the big-bads in stupid masks and yellow coats.

Prototype, you've got options. It's not good or evil or something insignificant like that, it's "okay, so... do I disguise myself as one of them and preform subterfuge or build up my power and go hulk or hijack a tank/helicopter."

I'm sorry, but inFamous does not look exciting in those trailers. I guess it's just one of those games that's boring to watch, but if you're playing it you're like "hey, I like it".

Well, blades are cooler than electricity, so it still wins.

Anyway, I'm all for Prototype, even if I did own a PS3 I still wouldn't buy Infamous.

Like I said, ther thing has a divergent powers structure, so they can't show the major advancements that happen and can't be accessed by the other side.
Why not?

That never stopped any of the trailers for every other game that has done the same thing, all the Star Wars games where you get light/dark exclusive powers, Fable, etc etc.

Apologist bullshit is not helping. No matter how good the actual game turns out, inFamous has bad trailers.

That's why they can't show off the electro puppetry zombies, the life absorption, the torturing enemies to get information, or anything like that.

I don't feel like I do come across as hating Prototype, but if I do, there's really one simple answer - Activision.
You do feel a bit like you hate Prototype, but it might just be me taking what you're saying the wrong way.

The Dev team behind Prototype is not terrible (nor is Prototype) just because Activision are money sucking splooge monkeys.
They're just the guys giving the funding, the devs are the real source of a game's quality.
I mean, I think Sony is The Devil, but that doesn't make Sucker Punch The Devil too, right?

Anyways, Prototype is a game where you're a bio weapon with a massive array or weapons, defensive powers and abilities for sensing things (such as heat vision).

inFamous is a game about a guy who parkours around New-I mean, Empire City (or whatever it's called), uses electricity based powers and makes cookie cutter "good/evil" choices. It is also noted for having boring trailers.

They are two separate games, their similarities are the time frame of release (this year, I do believe) and that they're sandbox.

Prototype sets you up as a morally ambiguous anti-hero (the very nature of your powers could be described as "not very nice" at best), where as inFamous sets you up as a Joe average who's got electricity powers, is given choices about how he should use them and is noted for his Solid Snake impersonations.

Prototype is just another Hulk Ultimate Destruction; with a cooler power, set better engine, and the ability to use vehicals, and guns. Strip it down and its just another hulk game.
That's like saying it's like sex with your first girlfriend, except now she's all grown up, has a porn star body and is really filthy in bed.

I fail to see how "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction but even better" is a remotely bad thing.

No it doesn't. The trailers show the story, the atmosphere, the premise brilliantly. You are only talking about it in comparing one aspect of Prototypes trailers to one aspect of inFAMOUS's trailers. The one aspect that is the only thing it keeps bringing up, I might add.
Except the trailers of inFamous are really bad at showing how the game is going to play, and the gameplay videos don't help because they only show two or three of the powers in quite empty environments, maing them look incredibly repetitive, and I bloody hope they're using unfinished animation, because that "hold hand at 45 degrees and never move it" thing whilst shooting lightning is horrible animation.

The trailers for inFamous completely fail to sell it as a videogame.

Protoype. Been waiting for this game for a damn while, and Infamous looks a bit...meh. And from the gameplay videos you basically use the same attacks over and over again which will eventually get boring.

Infamous: Assassin's creed style manmonkey but with insanely underwhelming lightning powers
Prototype: Hulk ultimate destruction, but the hulk has been replaced with Jackie from the darkness, finally making use of his demon powers full scale.

Over all, Prototype just looks better right now. Maybe Infamous will start looking better as we learn more, but right now its just kinda boring
