I think I stopped watching it after the first season. It was ok, but not really my thing.

I'm torn between Twilight and Rarity. I love how Rarity's feminine qualities were handled. She liked 'girly' stuff, but she was active with them. She didn't just go and buy clothes because they were fashionable or just talk about them, we saw her make them, we saw what her job was like and that she worked for them. Also I liked her personality.

But Twilight was a huge nerd who liked books.

Long story short, Slugbox had problems with the MLP fans in the past and he decided to change her origin completely.
He cleverly change her through random transformation cause of her unknown nature of her slime.
Btw, Cteno is only the Slime, not the skeleton, so.......technically she is NOT a pony, just copying one just because the first bones she possess was from a pony obviously......

But yeah, her personality get downhill after that. Now she is just a sex-machine.

As an example, leaving aside all the fan created Luna-ish stuff, Luna did not have much of a character until recently. She has become much more of a mentor and protector through interacting in ponies' dreams. She is very stoic, yet extremely caring, which was intensified especially after seeing how and why she became Nightmare Moon.

I pretty much just watch MLP on my own or with friends and don't interact with the larger fandom much. So while I'm aware that she has something of a cult going on, I chose her as a favorite more for these reasons. She doesn't show up very much, but I always enjoy her presence when she does. She seems to be struggling to find a balance between repentance and filling her role as a princess, and her desire to connect with others... which in some ways is what led to her becoming Nightmare Night in the first place. It seems like she's found that balance within the dreams of others, where she can interact with them on a more personal level while still working within her own realm.

Pinkie Pony is best Pony. Much of it is because she's often the most fun to watch, but also because it feels like there's a lot of hidden depths to her that we've only seen glimpse of. Not only talking about her occasional instances of hurting her friends in pursuit of pleasure(and then feeling really horrible about it once she realizes what she did), but also just the fact that seems like she has some kind of bipolar disorder. "Party of One" is perhaps the best example of this.

Key word: WAS. I got nothing wrong with Slugbox really, sure his stuff is raunchy as hell and out there but the style is at least pretty to look at. But Cteno? She's THE THING over a pony skeleton. She's got a compartment for holding human sized organisms to digest over time and frequently dissolves flesh just by TOUCHING it. Keep it away with fire.

OT: Fluttershy hands down. Yeah, I'll get labelled White Knight and all that but I just adore her character. She's cute and adorable and I can even see a tiny bit of myself in her(and I'm a 290lbs. male that's built like a brick) but I'm fairly introverted in general.

She's a mega-nerd, cares about her friends, is orderly (though bordering on obsessive), consistently humble and she knows shit. In fact, she pretty much embodies all the other elements in some capacity or other, so there's that, too.

Also, I declare your option of Luna invalid because she is not best pony. She is best princess; even though best pony is giving her a run for her money.

The fact that people keep spamming "anyone still think this show is for little girls?!" or "who said this was a little girls's how?!" over countless MLP:FiM clips kinda proves that it still is.
If bronies are so desperate to prove that what they enjoy has to be "accepted as not a sissy show" by society then that hints at insecurity and immaturity of bronies themselves.

I often use this example - only children/teenagers consider adulthood a huge deal. But adults themselves understand that age is not a factor it comes to enjoying something.

Accept that it's kids TV show and accept that it can be enjoyable for everyone in the family at the same time, a light-hearted show with enjoyable characters and some quirky moments. That's all it is, nothing more, nothing less.

It's just that people need to get over the constant need to prove to others who this show is or isn't aimed at. That is the first step to showing maturity. Bronies have nothing to defend, and shouldn't feel the NEED to defend why they watch MLP:FiM. Those who mock bronies are simply insecure and immature themselves with pre-concieved notions about who should be watching what.
