Sure, it may all be in fun, but over my time here I have seen so many threads on the Escapists' preferences on women physically. I hate to think it, but I'm beginning to think if I met some of you people, I'd be measured up to a mental list of physical characteristics, and reduced to a score on how much I please you visually.

This makes me mad, because women are more than collections of physical features. Maybe you know that, but I thought I'd share my two cents' worth...

Amazing poll graph, I was deciding between the two most popular choices, then selected the most popular (all without looking). I'm 6ft tall, and wouldn't want a woman taller than me, but I wouldn't want one too much shorter either. Remember, this is building here, I'm sure circumstancially people wouldn't instantly dismiss based on height alone 'sorry, you're two inches to short' would be insane. You'd be hard pressed to find a man stupid/shallow enough to select a woman purely on physical beauty, but I think the opposite is equally as stupid (ie. ignoring it).

I also understand if some of the women of the escapist don't take kindly to this thread/ series, for the 50%(?) of people who prefer men to women, why not start a counterpart series?

Also. those of you who've made comments that they 'only' care about personality ect, I'd struggle to believe you're being truthful when you say you aren't assessing potential woman based on physical attributes, at all, if you're not, well that is your business, and height should be a fairly common one. It does seem to go against evolution and natural selection not to though, and we don't have to go back to many years to see height trends in preferencial selection either.

EDIT: Forgot to mention gaming chicks. I think its unfair to claim that they are all intolerable whoever said that, if you've experienced less luck with them fine, but don't say that they do the gender a dis-service, that has to be discrimination on some level... Well, to all the women on here I'd imagine, anyway I didn't like the comment. Related, I would like to date a gaming chick, all of the ones so far haven't had any interest, and I think it'd be cool to share video games.

I'm 5'9", and generally women under 5'7" work for me. I've been with a woman who was 4'6" (and a year older than me, just in case you're making snap judgments)... and that was awesome. I could pick her up with one arm (I'll leave the ramifications of that to the imagination). I've been with a woman who was 5'11" with the proverbial "legs up to her neck"... and that was just awkward. Made me feel rather like a dwarf, with stubby legs and in need of a stepstool...
Currently with one who is 5'2". Works for me.

I agree with you and I'm not even a women.

Reject and/or slap anyone who has a list of characteristics they want from you, because they're obviously high-maintainence and have unrealistic expectations of superficiality.

Question for you, as I write this currently the most popular selection is the 5.5-5.6ft option, but only by 1 vote. When this thread ends, do you plan on;

A. Selecting the most popular choice, if it's 1 vote or 100 votes up or?

B. The mean, currently 1082.15ft / 195 votes = 5.5495ft (based on exact values 4.8ft and 6ft)?

C. The median, 5.65ft (I'm using 5.5ft-5.6ft and 5.7ft-5.8ft as the two middle numbers)?

D. Another method I haven't thought of?

Most likely the median, yet if it is like it is now (closer to higher than lower) I will select 5.6ft but I may go to mean. I won't release the results until the end though but looking at previous polls may give you an idea. Note this is only the 1st poll so it will be quite some time before I have finished.

Because I think it should be an option, it's just as valid an opinion.
