It's obviously a new mic/emergency tabletop mic whatever. If you listen you can hear that this isn't a headset since sometimes he moves futher away from the mic. Which is something that takes talent to do if your'e wearing a headset which he usually does use. My theroy anyway.

Why do we even care by the way?

Nothing, he's just speaking slower than he usually does. When he speaks fast he holds his breath for longer which alters his voice.

I actually think it sounds similar to his older reviews, back when he talked at a much slower pace.
I dont really care the difference in voice this week cause i happened to also enjoy the frist few reviews almost as equally as i have the more recent ones. To me its still sounds like zero punctuation. No big deal

Dont see where this italian accent conspiracy you have created came though. Perhaps you could explain your reasoning behind that?
I for one believe that if he was doing going to do another accent it be alot more over the top with stereo typical phrases added in (see the re-release of monkey island review haha)

Agreed. I thought cold/flu until I realised that in Australia it's currently high summer, though I doubt that makes any difference (especially considering I also get really bad colds in summer as well as winter). Either way, it doesn't really matter, I barely noticed it, so it makes no real difference to me.

I think he has a sore throat. I have that and my voice is changed similarly.
