Poll: Poll Would anyone else care if THE MOON were invaded

Well, since we are about to get swamped by these threads I thought I would pre-emptively invert the topic.

We have all these movies about aliens invading earth, but what would you do if they were to invade the Moon, and start mining it/ setting up a moon base to live. If they seemed to be peaceful, Would you be worried, excited, would you care that they have taken over our moon, or would you allow them to have it?

There are plans to colonise it? I hope they do it right to avoid some kind of war, like picking a few families from each major country: maybe 13 countries in all? Then, some time in the future, we could put the tax on moon-tea up a little too high and see them revolt, and probably end up with something like Red Faction. Only a little less shit...

Well, I don't know how much we could trust aliens and the moon puts them quite close to Earth... I think we'd need to prepare defenses and maybe eventually invade the moon. Though it would serve us right for not colonizing the moon fast enough.

I think so, yeah. I'm pretty sure the next step after the ISS is colonizing the moon. In fact, I think they're already in talks about colonizing Mars. After all, it'd be hard to make a return trip once you go to Mars.

But colonizing our moon would be extremely beneficial in a lot of ways. If we could stick building and launching platforms up there, it would be hundreds of times easier to both build and launch future spacecraft.

Well yeah I suppose you could extend the idea of occupying the moon to anyone, I said aliens because in all of the movies about them invading earth, e.g. independance day, they are the baddies because there is an immediate threat to our existence, and they are trying to displace us, but since the moon isn't used by us to make food, live on or anything like that, would you still see aliens as baddies for colonising it?
