Well there is no point for anyone to buy bottled water. Its practicly free and due to water regulation standards it is of the same quality.

tap water in my town is very very well regulated, sure, you can taste the chemicals in it, but most of those are put in by the water sanitation services on purpose and arn't harmful

Tap water where?

Does Oregon have the same quality tap water as San Diego?

When you say things that that, you undermine your own argument.

Good intentions, though. Bring us truth, instead.
The FDA regulates bottled water, and they don't really do a very good job of it.. Most bottled water comes from municipal sources, aka a tap.. It costs about 5x as much as gasoline.. The main reason tap water is vilified is by the soda companies trying to charge you for something, that in the first world, you can get at the drop of a hat.. Tap water won't kill you, and in MOST cases, especially in busy cities, so much of it gets used that it doesn't have time to sit in the pipes, which is where most of the bad taste comes from.. Add ice, make the water cold, and even a lot of those possible bad tastes disappear..

Believe me or not, I don't care, just don't throw your bottles in the trash.
Gallon of water: ~$1.50-$2.00.

Gallon of gasoline: ~$1.70-$1.90.

Don't be disingenuous. Again, give us truth.

I'm not a fan of bottled water either, I drink filtered tap, because regular tap here tastes F*CKING AWFUL. I don't drink soda either.

"Bad taste" is indicitive of contaminants, no doubt from sitting in the pipes, and myself and others arn't going to drink bad tasting tap water to stick it to the man.

And yes, I will throw any bottles I have in the trash if there's no recycling bin within immediate sight. I've driven across Kansas. We have PLENTY of room for garbage for centuries to come.

Bottled water. My parents are anal about hygiene, and besides, you can't really trust tap-water from Dubai's faucets.

Bottled water is fucking nasty. You take tap water, you boil it. That's how people do it.

You don't drink from the fucking tap. At least tap water is okay in Canada compared to what it was in Russia.

But still, how fuckin' hard is it to boil it before you drink it?
Mmmm...

Boil water in ~5 minutes, let it cool for ~5 minutes, and you look like a 19th century housewife.

Not hard, just appears to be a stupid idea.

who puts the other chemicals in the water?
it seems to me ALL of the chemicals in your water should be put there by the water sanatation department.

Water I bathe in is probably a lot cleaner than whatever you american people buy bottled :D
Yes, what is this 'bathing' I hear so much about? Coming from the driest continent on earth, only my drinking water is from the tap. We use rainwater tanks for everything else.

I hate bottled water and only buy it if I need the bottle itself (sometimes to use it for carrying tap water).

(Sometimes I do love being dutch :D)
Same here! I love being norwegian. Although, I think if we somehow separated the water we spray on our plants from the water we drank, we might save something.

Also. I drink bottled water now. Because .. I like my teeth adn good health. This vessel doesn't really have good water onboard. So yeah .. I'll drink bottled water.

Also. If we sail past this 'plastic island' of yourse, I'll give you a shout. You have my word for it ;)

We have a tank in our back yard that we catch water in from the roof, so I drink that.
Our tap water isn't too bad, but the rain water is nicer, and free.

I drink bottled because I'm sick for days if I drink the tap water from my house.
Also, you can recycle plastic, as far as I'm aware.
Cool story. For about $10 you can get a bottle of Polar Pure, which treats 2,000 quarts of water at 1/2 a cent per quart. How much is 2,000 quarts of bottled water?
