I've always thought it was easier to do the harder maps on the PC due to the higher speed that you can aim at, however arguably taht makes the pc version easier. I would say if youre up for a challenge xbox, but as you said there are mods and more people to coop with on the pc so it really depends which one you value more!
I can see this - for any of us who've managed all the gold achievements in the original Portal . . . the game literally became a CAKEwalk. TBH, I think I actually spent more time working on figuring out how to accomplish the gold achievements than I did any other portion of the game. Actually, come to think of it, I believe (IIRC) I got through the "campaign" in a matter of a few hours in one play through.

Anyhow . . .

You know, I would suggest PC, but since you included far better third option...

L.A. NOIRE! My God, I'm so hyped about this game!

Ahem... Anyway - PC, definitely.

I'm old, so I never got used to playing shooters on consoles. Someone got me Fallout 3 for PS3, but that was cool because I used V.A.T.S. all the time.

PC all the way, your PC is easily able to run it very nicely... And you dont need a game pad to play it, just use the good ol' keyboard and mouse...

This is partly what I am thinking, I have no problems with consoles, but I don't really want to play co-op with a person who by default is at a disadvantage...

And another thing... What receiver are you talking about?

Third party versions are available for less, they work too.

ps3 and you will get the PC version for free.
I remember hearing about that. Is that still on?
If that's the case I'll get the ps3 version but I'll probably just play it on the pc anyway and lend out the ps3 copy.

Honestly, that's the only way I'll get the ps3 version. After hearing them complain for years about how hard it is to make games for the ps3, I'm still not convinced the ps3 version won't be a complete mess.
Gabe Newell actually did turn around and end up praising PS3 and saying Xbox Live is a trainwreck....
That's the thing, I've never heard that sound byte. I've only heard the million others where he complains about how hard it is to make ps3 games.
But I guess that's a different argument anyway. The programming architecture and the intranet are completely different but everyone else always says how much better xbl is. As a ps3 owner, I was also under the impression that the 360 in general gets better support.

I would get it for the PC if mine could handle it, it's just out of date really, so I shall be getting it for the Xbox.

When I eventually get a new computer that I can game on I will probably just buy every Valve game (that I haven't already got) off of Steam for it.
