I love Portal 2's ending theme, but what does everyone else think?

Turret opera > Still Alive > Want You Gone

I still liked it though, but the turret opera was really brilliant. Felt more appropriate and warming given Chell's release.

Not really. I don't really like it at all.
Then again, I thought that Still Alive was pretty shitty too, so meh.

It's great. While "Still Alive" expressed sadness or pain over being killed by her only companion, yet championed all she did for science, "Want You Gone" is a tribute to the only friend she'll ever have. The tragedy? That Chell is a friend she has to let go, lest the conflict between her need to test and Chell's need for freedom continues into eternity. Even as friends, they're destined to kill each other over and over. Sometimes the best thing you can do is let go of a person close to you, so you can no longer hurt that person.

That's how I see it anyway.

Not really. It sounded less like it was being sung by a robot and more like it was just a regular woman singing with too much autotune going on. Because really, that's how it sounded to me. A lot of the time it sounded like just a regular woman, and then here and there they sprinkled in some auto-tune. I was thinking "Who dat woman and why is she singing to me?" Also, it's not nearly as catchy as Still Alive. Even my first time hearing it, Still Alive managed to stick in my head for a few days. Want You Gone, however, was gone from my brain maybe 30 seconds after it ended. Not very catchy.

So while it fits the ending nicely, over all, I feel it was not a triumph. I'm making a note here: minor disappointment.

The lyrics in Want you gone just aren't as good or memorable. Not to say it is 'bad'. But even consider your question in the topic of this thread, you make a reference there to the first line of Still Alive. That entire song was memorable and funny. This one.. is kinda catchy, but just doesn't resonate as well.

The only friend GladOS ever had was Cave, not Chell. I think that is what she meant by that line.

Christ, you'd think Portal 2 was handcrafted by Jesus Christ, blessed by Bhudda and imbued with the blood of prophets and charity workers; I'm pretty fucking sick of hearing about it.

But I like Stay Alive more.
Not hating it enough to not talk about it though, eh.

Have not read the thread, blurred my eyes to avoid spoilers.

Just asking that you please identify what game, movie, or book you are referring to in the thread title when you say "Spoilers". It's kind of uninformative when we don't know what you're spoiling.

Ignoring t just because you hate it is just stupid. The game has its merits but the hype surrounding it is just ridiculous, and reminiscent of the Dark Knight.
........
Um, what?
I think you quoted the wrong person or something, dude.
