While objectively I can see that Portal was fairly brilliant, I personally found it dull and too difficult.
Looking at the videos for its sequel, I believe nothing much has changed. Except that maybe it could be more objectively brilliant, but I'll find it more dull and more difficult.

Portal 2 is one of my most anticipated games ever. It cannot come out soon enough. The first game is one of my favorites of all time, yet 2 looks like it'll blow away Portal 1.
12 hours of playtime for $60, and I have to get it on the console that Valve has apparently picked as it's least favorite...
And I'll still be getting it on day one. : /

Portal 2 is going to be at full price because, unlike Portal, it is a full length game. More characterization, a much wider range of environments and much, much longer game play.
I thought Portal was one of the most refreshing unique, brilliant, and darkly funny games I've played in years. I'll definitely be buying the sequel.

I think it can, the reason that valve makes the best games ever is because they edit it till its perfect. I remember being slightly mad that i couldn't play l4d2 the second it came out (i used steam to preload) but guess what valve was doing? uploading the last few touches! they were busy after it was supposed to be released!
Can't wait, Valve release dates are like Christmas to me, but with crowbars and physics. After winning a drunken bet that I could beat the original Portal in an hour (finished in 56 minutes 17 seconds, with loading screens) I can't wait to speed-run the sequel and get another fifty bucks from my friends haha.
I hope that it succeeds on its own merits, not only on the momentum of the first game.
That is, I hope that it is good in its own right.

I'm not quite sure whether it's because I am mentally deficient somehow, or whether my tolerance for logic puzzles in games is so low my brain just refused to work out some of the later rooms.AjimboB said:

I am, on principal, skeptical of sequels for movies and games.
However, I saw the quote at the beginning of the GameInformer article on it and a chill went down my spine and goosebumps literally rose on my arm and I went, "Ohhh. This is gonna be GOOD."
