BE Mage would be the best way to go IMO, it's pretty much their class.

Out of all classes, though, you should really consider a hunter. Hunters are the asskicking class.

Just play EVE instead. There's no classes. If you don't like a choice you made, just work around it. It isn't like WoW, you can't be completely useless because you chose the wrong class.
There aren't any useless classes in WoW - come on, it's not like it's Final Fantasy XI or anything. ;)

Personally, I'd rock the Troll Mage, because Belves annoy me and because where Trolls lose in racials, they make up in Being Totally Awesome.

Plus their casting animation is the Hadoken.

Bring one to Naxx and watch the raid's DPS jump. Army of the Dead and that one anti-magic field they have are wonders for getting some of the achievements done. Holy/Prot Paladin + DK is an absolute monster of an arena team.

DKs are obviously the fresh new thing, so a lot of (charitably speaking) idiots are playing the class. But in a group with a *good* DK, stuff gets torn up.

Race doesn't really matter. Just pick the one that you prefer to look at or listen to; that being said TROLL MON!

Let's say you want to pvp so you pick the most badass looking class, the warlock. I mean they can summon demons from the twisting nether and use all kinds of black magic. So you start the game thinking you'll eventually be able to suck the life out of anyone you meet, WRONG. You soon find out that your defenses are total shit and your entire life relies on your minion; however, players don't have to attack your minion first. Nope, they go right for you and your weak armor and low health. You die and your powerful minion (in this case, the voidwalker) vanishes into thin air.

I know many very good Warlocks who would disagree with you. Clearly, you must have missed something in your Warlocking. :)

Consider that they (and Shamans) were by *far* the most powerful classes in TBC for endgame PvE content? Sure, in arena it boiled down to World of Meleecraft, but let's not call them "useless," shall we?

None! Run away, and never look back, trust me, two years of experience will tell you that WoW is a vacuum for your entire life.

If you want to never lose, play a UD rogue. If you want to have fun and be good at something?
Play a different game.

You're missing my point. If someone wants to pvp and they pick the Warlock, they have to start over because Warlocks suck at pvp since other players don't have to attack their minions. Either that, or they just pve. In EVE, there's no wrong choices. Everyone starts out the same, they become different over time. There aren't any classes in EVE. I do pve, pvp, manufacturing, copying, mining, and hunting. My whole point is that in WoW, certain classes are good for certain things and if you want to do something else, you have to start a new character with a new class. That doesn't happen in EVE.

I don't think I am. Warlocks don't suck at PvP. There are always imbalance issues and overpowered classes because it's an MMO and a work in progress. Warlocks have had their day in the sun like everyone else.

Sure, if you really really want to heal, rolling a Warrior probably wasn't the best idea for that. But you should figure that out by like level 20 or something.

You just proved my point. The classes are specialized. Some classes are good at some things, some are good at others. That doesn't happen in EVE. If you have to start a new character to do what you want to do, that's bad game design. If they're gonna do that, they should at least list what all the classes are good for in the customization screen so you don't have to start all over once you realize your class sucks for what you want to do.

I'd go with a troll rogue. Troll racials got revamped, so they are pretty nice now. I'd go BE mage only because I can't stand how the male trolls hunch over, and i think it looks terrible in cloth gear. I have a troll rogue i've been meaning to level. They have pretty sweet stabby animations (because assassination is the only way to go).

They do list them. It specifically says that warriors are good for soaking up damage and being up close and personal. If anyone reads that and think somehow they can heal, then there is a comprehension problem, it's not the game. All the classes give a description of the general roll of the class. At least in WoW.

You mean... exactly like they already do? They tell you right there what the strengths and weaknesses of every class are.

It's a class-based game. Different classes have different abilities and different roles to fill. This isn't poor game design, it's the nature of the genre (and, for the record, WoW's classes are FAR less niche than some other games - every class can do damage, not just tank/heal). If you start making every class have the same roles and same abilities, then you might as well just make everyone a gray formless blob. :/

Had to go troll rogue although never been any other class properly. I can tell one word that sums up solo as a warrior and that is painful (I guess it would''ve helped if I leveled up first aid)

Anyhow the reason I chose troll rogue is because the prospect of a giant fluroescent haired thing sneaking up behind you is pretty cool.

My warlock usually has the most hp in any group I'm in aside from the tank so it takes the enemy a little while to kill me...Also if you're using your Voidwalker in pvp there's a whole other issue...Pvp isn't really my thing but when I have ventured into it I haven't had much trouble holding my own on my Warlock, especially with either my Felguard or my Succubus.

As for the thread topic, it has already really been said; racials don't matter all that much in the long run. Personally I couldn't play a Troll past the area just outside their starting zone because their whole story gets finished right there and it makes them seem like silly moochers. Other then that I think they're awesome, so really the choice between Blood Elves and Trolls is an aesthetic one.

Well thank you for coming on to the thread, contributing nothing, and telling me how you didn't like my post.

I contributed some valid information, with a couple of opinions. You didn't like my opinions, or maybe didn't understand them, but if you didn't like them, argue back with a valid point, OR go away.

This is a World of Warcraft thread. If you don't like World of Warcraft, stay off it.
