I'm all for banning cheaters, but banning people because you are losing puts you on roughly the same level of maturity as griefers, and the squeaky little kids who swear a lot. You have to remember that the other people there are also playing to enjoy themselves, and part of the game entails winning or losing. Booting them because they win only serves to spoil their fun. There will always be people better than you at something, and you won't become any better by not playing them, so just learn to accept it as part of life, and part of the game.

I think cheats are fine. At least when cheaters beat you, you can find solace in the fact that they had to cheat to do it.

On the other hand, good players disgust me because there is no defense against them. They are selfish, low life forms who ruin games for everyone else. There should be rules that once you attain a certain level of skill at a game, then that game deletes itself from your hard drive, or invalidates its CD key or something.

On TF2 the best way to get someone back is to hide behind a corner as a pyro.

If you're playing on a casual or unranked server, then I think it is OK to kick someone who is spoiling the fun for the majority of the players. Players like that shouldn't be picking server against players with less skill or who are playing casually.

Then again if playing on a competitive or ranked server, then you just have to get over it. Unless you can find proof of cheating.

When I played GW I wasn't allowed to take part in inter alliance scrimmages if I was gonna play as my necromancer, it was too much rape and I completely understood where they were coming from. its never fun to have to play any type of game (FPS, MMO) if all your doing is watching the respawn screen.

Kicking cheaters = Good
kicking players for simply being better = Bad
Kicking a player for being a prick regardless
of skill level = Good

i don't have a problem losing to people who play fairly unless they're being pricks when all you've done was being nice. some of the other players I've met agree with me. one person actually kicked the other team's ass when they were bull shitting me when all i did was join and say "what's up?". just because your a better player doesn't excuse you for being a prick.

I actually have a friend who is BANNED from playing in fighting game tournaments in his own town because he's so good that everyone unanimously said that if he were to enter, they wouldn't stand a chance. Personally, I find it immensely unfair to him.

Yea lets go stealing $60 from people because they are enjoying a product and spend some time with it. Exelent buisness practice for turning reviously loyal costumers into pirates, who willl get a version they can play forever instead of a perma ban after every lucky streak.

The difference is insurmountably huge.

I remember being accused of cheating only once in my entire life; this happened in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory VS Mode.

Spawned at the Greek Temple section of that Aquarium map or whatever it's called. I ran around the left corner up the steps next to the computer node and rammed straight into the one spy I was 1vs1'ing again. "omfg wallhack (etc)".

Also, Bonsaik, you fail.

If someone is better than you, big deal. It should give you a reason to keep trying and attempt to gain skill. Cheaters ruin the game because they purposely have an unfair advantage against the other players but pros' advantages are not the same because they worked to become pro and I don't think that they should be punished for being better than people. If you've ever seen Hot Fuzz, there's a scene where he gets sent off because he's so good at his job. The same thing applies here.

Banning cheaters is a given.
Banning good players makes you an asshole.

Banning cocky, arrogant, loud, annoying, or generally unpleasant people is okay.

I think you failed to detect a certain level of irony in my post. It seems many people on this board struggle with ironic humour.

Single player: Cheats are fine, your just enhancing the experience.
Case-in-point: Grand Theft Auto. Ahh, nothing like giving every NPC a random gun, activate insane driving, then activate rioting people. And then see how long you can survive.

Multiplayer: Bad, for VERY obvious reasons. Ruins the fun for others.
Case-in-point: Unreal Tournament. *crycry*

Off topic kinda. But I've played online enough to hear people complaints about dominant players for whatever reason. My question is is that: Is it 100% known for turth real knowledge that some games can actually be hacked in the first place. No hearsay or sorelosing. Can these games wether they be pc or ps3 or live acutally BE hacked for a FACT.

On topic however. so what. as long as they're not cheating. If your respectfully great at some game, not cheap or a sore winner then so be it. well done. *applause* Hopefully i can learn something from my own ass that you just handed me.
Though any sort of D-baggery wether your great or terrible deserves a ban or kick imo.
