Too much of modern anime is just filler, scenes where nothing's happening (screen panning across a character's face is too common), the pace is far too slow.

I grew up with, and will stick with Doraemon, episodes are just 6 minutes long, leaving absolutely no room for any filler.

My biggest problem with animes, is the 16-25 year old male who whines like a ***** during the whole run of the show and shows no growth as a character (see Burst Angel)

I kind of wish I could have voted for more than one option. That said, I've never entirely understood my hatred for anime... everything about it just bothers me, I find. I don't even know. *shrug* I don't rage or flame about it, I just avoid it like it means my life because I dislike it so much. I dunno, man.

The over sexualization.

Good lord, Tite Kubo must be a boob man. Bleach has an obsession with big boobs.

Most of them are just uninteresting to me, I'm sure that some people will love them, just not me.

My biggest issue? It's hard to find on Netflix's instant queue, which make it really hard to watch (I've been trying to get into it for a while) without using a shady site and/or pirating it.
funimations sites have most of their stuff for a free watch, albeit with comercials

most anime is fine until the writers run out of ideas. then its just completely implausible plot twist after another. so the ones that set a limit for themselves are the best and i dont have any problem with those.

I like a few animes but a lot of the recent ones seem to run into the same story plots and the characters lack depth and generally I get bored of it.

Bleach I gave up after 20 episodes, I saw later episodes and the same nosense is going on. I swear if you added up all the explanations of moves in that series it'd end up being 2 seasons of skill sets.

Best anime I saw recently is Hellsing Ultimate 1-4 out of the 7. I know it's older but being someone who wasn't 100% with the original series and seeing how it was MEANT to be was both refreshing and awesome.

Best NEW anime I saw? ...er...Full Metal Alchemist? I liked that but I hear it too wasn't done right and they redid it with Brotherhood. I can't keep up anymore.

And my Favorite Anime of all time isssss...Outlaw Star. I love sci fi, and just liked the style of it all. Fantastic series. (don't tell me it's different from the manga, I'm sure it is and I don't care to find out just how butchered it might be)

After all these years, they still don't know how to animate. I'm talking real animation. Chuck Jones, Disney, Don Bluth. Donald Duck-The Hockey Champ 1939. Nothing japan has done in 60 years has come close to that. In fact nothing they do comes close to South Park. They can animate the hell out of some bewb jiggling, I admit. 60 some years and that's the only thing they can animate well. Think about that.

Also rape is wrong. Pedophilia is wrong. That's not cultural it's universal. I don't like that in every goddamn frame there's this uneasy creepy pervertedness. Zatch Bell was an entire show dedicated to the joys of pedophilia. Think about that. To be fair a lot of American cop dramas seem to have a creepy necrothing going on.

And shit be gay, yo. Looking at you Naruto. It's so gay that they had to make a gay character(I assume he's gay) so you wouldn't notice how gay the rest of the show is.

Yeah i started watching Fullmetal Alchemist too. I like it, and so does my little brother, surprisingly. it wasn't done wrong, they just made it before the actual manga was finished, so it had it's own storyline, it wasn't necessarily wrong. Brotherhood just sticks to the manga (or comic, or graphic novel, whatever you want to call it)

The internet spiral of hate surrounding it. The craziness of weeaboos is well-documented, and the exact opposite who think everything western is automatically superior while Japan needs to be nuked is probably worse in terms of aggression (and they can be pretentious; I've run into someone who thinks western art is all about bringing about emotion and social change, nevermind many-a dumb blockbuster).

Also, I'll admit to not liking much of what came out in the past few seasons, but I still have quite a few series to see.

For me, the only real problem I have with any particular anime is when the story itself bores me. I treat anime much the same as I treat any other TV show or film, whether it's from Japan or not. I won't watch a US or UK drama series that I find to have a crap story, likewise if I don't enjoy the story of a particular anime then I simply won't watch it. Other than that, I do get somewhat annoyed, yet amused, at the people who take anime far too seriously. Though I would never call someone out on it, I can't help but laugh at the people who go overboard with their devotion to an anime. I mean, fine, I'll admit I do ship characters and stuff in my head, and have ideas for fan fiction (though I've not got around to writing anything yet...). But going overboard on something is just silly. Though, then again, I still laugh anyway at people who do that with anything else. Don't even get me started on Trekkies...

Oh, and I've never understood why some people refuse to watch particular anime in English when dubbed, because they see the voice acting as being bad. I mean, whenever I watch anime I don't focus on the voice acting, I just listen to what's being said. I'm watching Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni at the moment and the voice acting sounds fine to me, if a little over the top at times, but most comments I see online are that the voice acting is crap and that subs are much better. Anyone care to enlighten me here? After all, if I wanted to read subtitles I'd just go and read the manga instead of watching an anime...

Much like Hellsing as I gathered, I hate the original Hellsing, the Ultimate fits the style so much better and feels more ...I dunno how to explain it. It just works better I guess.

Where to begin!

Voice acting is a bothersome. The original japanese, I mean. Especially from women characters. They start yelling, my ears start bleeding, and my dog starts howling, and I don't see my cat for a few days. Just. Plain. Awful.

The fanbase is another. Anime has to have the most childish fanbase of any sort of media, or art. They make the 13 year olds on Xbox live look mature. And they never shut up.

Every single anime has the most formulated characters. Always the exact same guy, or gal in every single one. Always said that anime has some of the most unique story lines, but they are ruined by the most run of the mill, cookie cutter characters.

A few other reasons, but this post is becoming too long about this particular subject for my liking.

THe over the top animation in many Anime, like parts of Dragon Ball Z, and most of Pokemon. I don't really have a problem with most anime, mainly on the grouds that what I've seen (Hellsing (Both TV and OVA), Gantz, Ghost In The Shell) has been good and much more adult focused.

But when you think about it, most of the world shouldn't really be allowed to complain, as most Anime is made by Japan, FOR Japan. Japan has an entirely different culture to a lot of people that watch Anime. Hence why half the world finds Family Guy fucking stupid.

I'm severly disappointed by recent seasons, with a grand amount of like 5 decent shows coming out in the last 2 years.
At least they still make good movies, even if the series suck. Been getting some good stuff in that department.

So yeah, my problem is the usual "Everything was so much better back in the day". But it's true.
ditto. While i do like the occasional ecchi series ;) its getting pretty ridiculous now. >.<

But on topic, My only gripe is the Anime Elitists. I've watched thousands of hours of anime and love every minute. But i never saw the need to justify Dubs vs Subs or Speed vs Quality. If i get it, (and its good) i'll watch it.
