Let me quickly get one thing straight, i dont want another fanboy vs. fanboy thread ultimatly resulting in this threads demise. All i would like to know is feedback about each console based on what you know. (i.e. if you own one, what are the pros and cons).

I'm asking because i want to buy a console, but cant decide on what to buy.

Any advice or reviews of your console(s) would be awesome! thanks :D

(p.s. im adding a poll just because i generally want to see what people game on.

Get what your friends play the most (so you have good online interaction) or get the one with the dedicated games you seem to like the most.
Both are good consoles.

I have all 3 consoles and a gaming PC, if there's anything more specific you're curious about I'd be happy to answer.

The PC is my favorite platform in general. It does everything the consoles do, but better. The downside is that a gaming PC costs a lot more.

Since the 360 and PS3 cost the same amount now...

PS3: has built in wireless, internet browser, and the UI is about 40 million times better than the PoS the 360 is using. However, 360 has more games that I personally am interested in. Though to be fair there is a lot of multiplatform titles and the PS3 has a nice bunch of exclusives this year. Also free online is the shit, I've never paied for live and I never will. Also you get a blu-ray player for 300 dollars, not bad.

The 360 I find is inferior to the PS3 in every area, except where it really counts: the games. As I mentioned, it has more I'm interested in. Also the 360 controller rocks the shit out of the dual shock. I've always hated Sony's controllers and I don't see that changing.

I've got all four and they all serve different purposes for me, the PS3 is usually my one player system, the 360 is for split screen shooters, the Wii is for family gaming, and my PC is for my online gaming.

I bought the PS3 for one reason.

God of War 3.

Can't wait for the game to come out. I'm so exited I could do something not so nice.

Like draw on the walls.

But really, I feel that the PS3 and the PC has a better library of games.

I game on a 360, and this will become afanboy vs fanboy thread because it always does. Also, we're not too fond of vs threads anyway, just for future reference.

I game on a 360 because I had an XBox, and it just made sense to get a 360 next, and I wasn't monied enough to get all the consoles. I don't like the Wii, having playing it round a few friend's houses, and I like the selection of games for the Wii even less than the control, which I (personally, me, my own opinion, not based on fact) find gimmiky and annoying.

PS3 is beginning to make more and more sense to me as I see the games which are at last being released for it, but I am still a poor student and don't have that kind of money to spare.

I haven't PC gamed in years, mostly because I didn't want to have to spend all my money constantly updating, or running everything with awful graphics to compensate for slow processors.

EDIT: Maybe we should stop predicting a flame war, agree to not quote each other, and try to avoid flaring up at stuff people say? Then this wouldn't descend into flame territory? [sub]Maybe...[/sub]

No no NO.

No fucking versus threads, you can try to rationalise it but the fact is that it's a straight up versus thread. And PS3 vs 360? Really? I thought we'd finally gotten past all that bullshit.

Versus threads, not good.

If this were any other forum, a lot of people would have been called "F4GZ L0L" by now.

To quote Yahtzee (Which I rarely do) I'm white enough to be able to afford all three systems. I get the most gaming use out of my Xbox 360. I originally purchased my PS3 as a Blu-Ray Player exclusively, however I have picked up Infamous, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and The God of War collection so I DO get some gaming out of it. My Wii is the bastard child of the bunch, mostly only used for drunken Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Wii sports. Otherwise I don't get much use out of it.

I have a PC and a 360. Most of my friends game on at least one of the two so it made sense for me. I only know a couple of people with a PS3 and while I do want to play a few of the exclusives, there aren't enough to justify buying that as well.

Beige Answer: Both consoles are good in the things that they do, and bad in the things they do not.

Now just buy one of them for God's sake.
