I just saw an ad for a show about child psychics and I thought, 'Yea, Yea, I saw the Sixth sense too...' Do you believe in Psychics?

This thread is not search bar approved. OH NO! :O

I think the polls are a bit biased there. Yes I don't believe in psychics, but it's not all lies. Some of these people genuinely believe in what they do, so they're not lying... they're just.... misinformed.

I almost thought you said "physics". But then I re-read it and it's empirically the complete opposite. Boooooooo! D:<

Its definitely something to look into; I mean, weren't there government psi-spies, or something during the cold war?

As with many things, its equally stupid to assume that these people are absolutely all lying/insane, as it is to state that they are undeniably in possession of incredible mind powers.

There are definitely a number of con-people out there, but there also seem to be those who legitimately experience something unexplained by what we currently know.

Here's a fun question, why were you drinking cola and holding your hat out in front of you whilst reading the internet? =D

I don't believe in Psychics, still the concepts of Telekinesis/Telepathy are awesome (Talking to Ghosts not so much). Cold Hard Reality sucks sometimes...

(Btw. Really looking forward to "The Men Who Stare At Goats)

Psychics, homeopathy, astrology, all arsegravy. In my opinion, at least.

Of course, I'm a scientist (well, OK, science student) so it's fair to assume I'm a little biased.

Bull. Poo.
One of the main arguments for psychics ("normal people only use 10% of their brain durp-de-durp") has been disproven long ago and no study so far has managed to provide any significantly better results by psychics (you know, guessing card symbols or drawing stuff and whatnot) in actual experiments than statistical probability would allow them to.
Interestingly, once again, I like psychics and Psi and all this stuff in fiction. But it's just that, fiction.

Aw, come now, it's just as effective as placebo-treatment and we know that placebos have a certain real effect on patients.
That said, I'd still prefer a sugar pill.

Why not? Seemed perfectly logical at the time.

I'll admit that.
I was thinking more of the "water remembers what was dissolved in it" shenanigans.

Yeah, I hear you.
It can help people but certainly not because of a sound theory or any actual efficacy.
