Lufia II is a good one. Don't worry, though. Lufia II is set before Lufia I, and they tie together nicely. (Think the story timeline of the Starwars movies)

Lufia II is underrated RPG. 'Tis a good game, for it lasts long and there's quite a lot to do. Lots of goals.

I'd say Super Metroid, Castlevania and Kirby are really good games too but Metroid has always been one of my favourites.
