Does anyone else feel the odd desire to be quoted in the forums? Like you posted something you thought was deep or thought provoking or funny, and all you really want is for someone to quote you. Then you get that magic "You've been quoted in the Forums" message in your inbox.

This drives me nuts sometimes. If i post in a bunch of different threads i always want to see a new message in my inbox. I dunno why but i like being quoted. I guess it's like the fleeting human contact high?
What, you mean like this? Yeah, it's nice but it doesn't always mean that someone agrees with you. More often than not it's because someone wants to start an argument. In general, I don't even view posts that include quotations from me, I've got better things to do.

If someone expects me to reply to them, I want to be quoted. I rarely follow up on threads I post in unless someone quotes me.

I always like being quoted too - it tells me that I said something interesting that people want to talk about.

Yes, yes I do!

Whether it's a positive or negative reply, being quoted always makes a little cloud appear beneath me which gently carries me off into the sky.

Of course. It let's me know that I'm being noticed by someone.

If it's to do with an argument of some sort, I might know exactly what to say to shut that person up and I win the argument. If that guy is a total dumbass or he's already arguing with others, in that case I don't respond at all.

Wow, your going to get a hell of a lot of those messages for making this thread...

Here is another one! No, no. No need to thank me.

You has a messages! :D

*Le snip*

I read my quoted posts with caution.
You too has a messages! :D

Seriously though, I can predict, usually quite accurately, when a post I have made gets quoted, what the likely response is. Usually it's a negative/disagreeing response, but never mind! It's always nice to be quoted by someone agreeing with you though! I think the caution lies with whether you should respond or not. I think tonight I made a bad choice. But that's a different thread! :D

It's a pleasant suprise. Although I'm usually quoted when I post a couple of sentences in a debate of some kind. The quoter usually includes six paragraphs on why I'm wrong. So now I try to stay out of topics where my opinion will get flamed to hell.
U IS WONG! SO WROOOOOOONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG,MI OPINIONS RITE, urs soooo wongggg, blah blah hate [5 pages later]

OT: I admit its like a little buzz like 'OMG, someone liked something I said??!" and then you realize some 'tard taking everything you said in a passive manor and turns it into some nasty bile and proceeds to foam like a savage dog. But when you make a connection and have a bit of fun, it's really nice :)

Why yes, it DOES send a surge of feel-good substances into the reward center of my brain!

I, as most here, like the attention it brings - someone not only read it, but your opinion was so important, for better or worse, that someone quoted you! Woo! Now read why they either disagree completely, or have nothing to add!

It's a nice way to see the comment ha been read, or completely misunderstood so someone is going off on one....

But, seriously, I don't really mind not being quoted or responded to since that doesn't mean my post went unread by everybody. Most of the time, I seem to get quotes from people saying rather pointless, or argumentative statements just to be rude (because it is the internet and that's what they do). So I read my quoted posts with caution.
Let's form a Mutual Quote Support Group, or MQSG, for ease of pronunciation.

Pretty much this. When I am quoted that either means I've said something that someone picks out as good, or someone disagrees with me enough to discuss it further. In any case it means I've said something that differentiates my post from all the others. Or in some cases I have simply posted quickly enough to be on top of the first page and I am quoted just because I am the first one to say what people don't want to hear.

I enjoy being quoted usually. I don't get quoted often, but it is nice when it happens.

Even when it's just to give another person an excuse to post again?

OT: I should mention I get quoted a fair bit just because of my trademark way of ending posts...
