i recently looked back with the help of my girlfriend on my experiences playing online games and playing games with a high difficulty. for example mw2. i'm not too bad at this game but when you get those bad days where people seem to play like a super saiyen in a spartan suite and it makes me feel like a lowly grunt. and i get so angry and frustrated that i want to crush the controller in my hands and punch myself in the face until i believe im in a time where pong was a mythical creature.
so is it worth it? going through a whole level to be stuck at one point and having to go back to the check point again and again, but then completely losing my mental stability and rage quitting to then have to do the whole level that took me 9763542 hours to get to the point i got stuck at again? or is it simply worth losing a mtch bonus on cod.

leave your thoughts.. :)

If you're just going to get more annoyed at it, then yes, it is worth quiting.
It isn't a rage quit if you quit before you rage :D
Just ask yourself... you went on the game for fun... are you having fun? If not, why are you playing? Go have fun on something else.
So quiting is worth it if you are pissed... hopefully, if not in multiplayer, you'll get a save/checkpoint first.

I'm still kinda confused what you mean by worth it but i'm gonna hesitantly say yea. I mean like i do it from time to time if i'm getting frustrated but i'm kinda confused of whats being asked here.

Ive only rage quitted once, and that was when the game stopped being fun and became annoying, it was on God Of War, some puzzle where you get owned allthe time by things, maybe i just sucked at it but it took me so long, i had to rage atleast once.

Yes, but not in front of people. They give you the innevitable "it's just a game, it's not real" talk

I can't focus straight when I'm mad. So I sometimes leave when I'm just that pissed of.
Screw the consequences, and leave. Wait a day or two hours, than come back. It'll be MUCH easier to focus.

Although it's a ***** when the friends online message you like "hey what was that all about+"
And than they send you another message saying "hey what was that all about?" because they don't bother making a * sign in their next message.

Was it the one where you have to push the cage up the hill where if you let go it slips back down while all the time big scythe wielding guys that grapple with you spawn?

I don't rage quit often because I'm a stubborn mofo. Things getting really annoying just make me hell bent on beating it.

Yes, yes it was...

I prefer to quit when i stop having fun, its not ragin cause im fine and i go back to playing it later, but if it isnt fun, why bother?

Welcomez to teh Escapist!

I don't really rage quit I just take a break from the game. Mainly it's mostly my fault for not saving or the game bugging out. I just take a couple of mins from it and play another game or something but I'll eventually come back to it.

I think it is the right thing to quit a game when it stops being fun. If you're getting your arse kicked, take some time out and watch a spot of TV.

Oh by the way, Welcome to the Escapist. But if you value life and limb, NEVER go into the basement...

Yes, because quite simply, you get out of the very thing that's frustrating you... for people like me that is a good thing as I can get frustrated quite easily.

I only rage quit in multiplayer games, and only then when my team is terrible beyond belief(I only play on teams). In singleplayer I usually keep butting my head against whatever the problem is until I get past.

Rage Quit to me is acceptable especially if you are in a game of Team Fortress 2 and while you are the only one who is Medic, half the team decides to be Sniper and the enemy are Spawn Camping your ass so that they can win the match.

That and if you are playing a game with a hard mission, you die and you find out you have to start over miles away from where you died.

In game where my leaving affects the other person (fighting games have this sometimes)...No.

In games like Halo, MW2, TF2, etc...Yes.
