Unrealistic, seeing that

A. A "realistic" video game is something of a contradictory phrase, games are intrinsically unrealistic. The guy sprinting around the map with dual-wielded anything is proof enough of that.
B. Not worrying about "realism" allows you to do some cool things. An example would be the game Haze, a game that no one played. However, there were some cool mechanisms that were in multiplayer that would never fit into a "realistic" context.

Can't I like elements of both?

I mean noone wants to die in 1 bullet, slowly bleeding out.
And who wants to forgo aiming down the sites and using realistic weapons?

Non-realistic. Why be stuck with crappy realistic guns when you could have a gun that shoots shurikens and lightning.

Un-realistic. I just find them more fun. Plus the fact that the only realistic video games are the Arma games and those other army created ones. Modern Warfare and Battlefield aren't realistic, they're just set in a modern time period.

Non-realistic. No question. When a game's entire appeal is "Look at this! It's gritty and realistic and HARDCORE!", it isn't really a good idea to set everything in that state of almost-reality wherein everything is either infuriating for how realistic it is or infuriating for how it isn't realistic enough. And it also isn't a good idea to make everything look like and be shit.

Non-realistic shooters tend to be a lot more wacky and creative and, y'know, fun.

The original Doom, Turok 1/2, and Doom 64 are some of my favorite shooters ever. Sadly the latter games in those same series were glitchy and horrible.

Modern shooters I like would be Borderlands, Fallout 3, and Resistance (mostly the first one).

Upcoming ones that interest me are Rage and to a much much lesser degree Fallout New Vegas.
