My pineal gland got reversed me thinks.
Maybe it's the same for me, would explain why I feel wasted EVERY morning even if I went to sleep early

Its a mix of insomnia and peacefulness.

To explain the latter:
I am usually awake until around 4, 5:00 AM. The last 5 or so hours of that are pretty much silent, save for the tapping of keys and the hum of my computer. I don't know why, but I get a nice, peaceful feeling from the near silence.

Absolute silence, on the other hand, bugs the hell out of me.

EDIT:
Also, I seem to be a bit more creative at night. This is somewhat tempered by my already scattered train of though becoming a nigh incoherent string of babbling.

I like the night better b/c its quiet, there are better tv shows on, everyone else is sleeping, and its just better in my opinion.

It's colder, I like the cold, and everyone with annoying voices goes to sleep.
And it's also when the phone stops ringing. My home phone needs a better ring tone.

A combination of some of those really. I love the general feel of the night. The world is asleep, everything is silent, all you can hear is the sound of the trees and all light you see is from the stars and the moon.

My logical thinking also improves, for some reason. Some of my best posts on many different forums have been written at night.

For another odd reason, my English skill usually goes up as well. I write a lot more creative and fluently. A lot less spelling and grammar mistakes. I have no idea why.

Ah, the silence is wonderful. And sometimes I just go outside and lay in the yard, and not a thing to bother me.
Except for the bugs? I always try to do crap like that. "Be one with the night" and such, then 5 minutes later I'm on the couch inside because I hate fricken mosquitoes.

I don't have a problem with mosquitoes or any kind of bug where I live.

Why do I stay up?

Coffee.

LOTS of it.

Er, no. It's just quieter about the house, you can do as you please provided you don't wake anyone.
