Poll: Red Dead or Mario Galaxy 2

I'm saving up in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a PC gamer but before I start I just need to get one more game to last me until Fallout: New Vegas and I can't choose between Red Dead Redemption (for PS3) or Super Mario galxy 2. On the one hand Red Dead could last me some time if I get into it but on the other hand my wii desperately needs Mario Galxy 2 to stay alive. The last game I bought for it was Brawl. I also loved the first Mario Galaxy. What is your opinion on this? What should I get?

I'd go for SMG2. It'll last you a while if you go for all the stars.

I just love these vs threads and so does the forum in general, but with these two, Red Dead.

I think Red Dead could probably last you longest. Sandbox games. Woo.

Not to mention the huge world, freeroaming multiplayer, the fact it has gunslingers.

Ooh my vote made it a dead on 50/50 vote (I voted Red Dead). simply because, there's a billion Mario games out there, and as for open world Westerns with as much fun gameplay as this, I'm slightly pushed towards RDR (more bang for your buck so to speak). But of course at the end it's up to you!

I'd go for Red Dead Redemption - good open world games last real long and it's a western GTA. That's just unbeatable.

I'm gonna say go for Galaxy 2 as you stated that you loved the first one and by all accounts 2 is just as good if not slightly better.

They're two very different games, and both are very good. In stead of relying on the opinions of strangers, why not try to form one of your own for a change? It should be an easy choice just looking at what kind of game you like better.

Galaxy 2 made me remember why I enjoyed playing games, absolutely loving it.

If the only reason you'd choose "Super Mario Galaxy 2" is to keep your Wii alive, then get "Red Dead Redemption" -- you'll probably happier in the end.

For the record, though, I can't recommend SMG2 enough.

OT: I can't really reccomend either, I have not played them and both companys behind the games have a really good catalogue.

Super Mario Galaxy, because PS3 games are far more likely to go down in price than Wii games. You'll be able to get it cheaper, later.
