The popular web series, Red vs Blue, has been going on for many years now, and as such, has brought up a number of separate story arcs, each consisting of several seasons that basically tell different chapters of the overall story. For those who watch the show, I'd like you to tell me which of those arcs you count as your favourite, and why.

To help understand these different periods, here's a list:

The Blood Gulch Chronicles - Seasons 1 to 5
The Recollection - Reconstruction, Recreation and Revelation
Project Freelancer - Seasons 9 and 10
The Chorus Trilogy (currently on-going) - Seasons 11, 12 and 13

Episode 100 was when I should have stopped because it had the biggest conclusion if I remember correctly, though I continued till halfway through season 9. Not sure which act ended with episode 100, but the episodes which were before that were my favourites because they had the most memorable lines.

I love Monty and his action scenes, but Red Vs Blue was not the place for it in my opinion.

Hard to say really-

Blood Gulch was great but it was also primative when looking back and compared to the current episodes (remember when the episodes were only less than 5 mins long and had huge black borders and the quality were abit blurry?). In saying it does shows it has come a long way.

The R trilogy did give the show more structure but it did had some stuff that contridict the old seasons.

Project Freelancer was pretty much all about the action eventhought I did find Church vision of Blood Gultch abit weak.

Chorus pretty much trying to balance out between comedy, story telling and action (with one of two non ingame actions like Monty but not over the top).

I think I go with Blood Glutch just for the nostalgia eventhought I did thought the R trilogy had a better story going.

Tough call, honestly. I've watched up to the first part of the Chorus trilogy (and want to watch the rest of it- too bad I'm so damn lazy...), but I like all of it on some level. So I'm stuck.

Blood Gulch Chronicles without a doubt. I love those old episodes- they have the best jokes, the best characters and the best lines. Sure, the story doesn't make a huge amount of sense but it's entertaining enough.

The Recollection was alright, I guess. The story was developed upon, the animation got better and the characters were still good. Quite a lot of the new story was complete bollocks, even compared to the original- and that's saying something.

Project Freelancer was where I stopped watching. The blood gulch bit with church was alright, but the actual project freelancer bit was so appallingly bad I couldn't watch it without cringing. The story was dumb, the characters were boring at best and vomit-inducing at worst and my god were some of the designs atrocious. Carolina in particular looks like she was designed by a 13- year old. She's supposed to be a trained soldier- why does she need an emo fringe? The entire past bit was so fucking bad it actually made me embarrassed to watch.

If you can't tell, I liked the original seasons best.

Red Vs Blue stopped being funny when the stories became less about jokes and funny situations, any more about Burnie's terrible "Serious" writing. Reminds me of when Ctrl Alt Del tried to be serious and it just came off as awkward and ironically funnier than the deliberate jokes.

Probably a tie between Blood Gulch Chronicles and Recollection. Blood Gulch because everything was simple and well contained, but still really funny and engaging. Recollection for the emphasis on storytelling, but it still had all the comedy you want out of Red vs. Blue. If I have to choose, Blood Gulch, because it's the longest, but Recollection is just as awesome to me.

Project Freelancer was OK, but it never felt as fun to watch. As of right now I've only seen the first season of the Chorus trilogy, and I'll catch up the next time I rewatch the series.

The Recollection seasons are my favorite, but it's very close. I love the action scenes from Freelancer but Recollection was more fun to watch. As for The Chorus Chronicles, I'm enjoying the current season more than the last. I find the jokes funnier, the animation more fluid and I like when all the characters are together. Plus Church's "discussion" with the other fragments was really cool and I wish they would do it more.

I can't say which is my favorite I pretty much love most of it. the only one I'm a little bit iffy on is freelancer because the red and blue teams really felt like side characters to Carolina story, you could say the same thing about The Recollection with Washington and church but they still had some badass moments

when the red team took out Meta is one of my favorite moments

I'm liking the new Chorus trilogy I think it has some of the best villains of the entire series

Season 3 and season 6 are my two favorite, so it is quite the hard decision but damn season 3 was just soooo good I have to vote Blood Gulch.

Blood Gulch is still the best. Nothing beats those first five seasons in my book. Recollection is okay, but only just okay. Freelancer was fucking garbage, and I stopped watching the show around then. Seriously, who the hell wanted RvB to have a "serious" story? And how the hell can people take it seriously considering this is RvB?

I'm actually enjoying the current storyline. Blood Gulch is great, and will probably stay on top, but this current story--is it the Chorus one?--feels like a return to form. For the past few season, especially the ones that focused on the Freelancers in the past, were painful. The comedy was gone for the most part, and my problem with prequels was slapping me in the face the whole time--I already knew what happened to all of these characters, save Carolina. And she was basically Tex all over again, so I didn't care about her.

She's gotten better now I think, but those seasons were hard to get through for sure.

On the ranking it goes Blood Gulch> Recollection> Chorus>Freelancer.

Seriously fuck season 9 and 10. Too much action and 'wow look at me jerk off into the camera while rap music plays' scenes. At least Chorus has toned it down and now uses the CGI for more than just over the top fight sequences that just drag on and on and on..

Basically anything that wasn't focused on being funny just kinda fell flat. So, Blood Gulch stuff as it was just silly.

I mean, the whole animated fight scenes stuff was just... bad. And Tex altogether.

Pretty much this. The rankings there are totally right. I'm glad Chorus got somewhat back on track though.

Project Freelancer for sure. I love the whole series, but Project Freelancer is where they really grew as a production. Fully animated story segments, character growth, a perfect merging of the old and new. It was great.

BGC was of course the funniest (though Chorus is pretty damn funny as well), but naturally the story was pretty disposable. It only really came together at the end.

But again, I've been a fan of the series since 2005, and it has never disappointed me yet. I can't say that about a lot of shows.

When it was still funny, i even bought the early series on dvd. See yatzhee's web comic episode for the general gist of my sentiment.
