Gotta ask why a gay person would be working for a church that's against homosexuality. Even if Churches arn't allowed to discriminate I'm sure it would be "well call you" "we still have interviews" or "we already filled the position" at least that's how I would run it.
As long as religious discrimination doesn't occur in government institutions, then religious groups are completely within their rights to deny certain people access to their facilities, churches, etc. I am all for equality, and I personally think that discriminating against anybody based on sexual orientation, gender, race, etc. is ridiculous - we're all people, after all. But if a religious institution has a law against a certain kind of lifestyle, then so be it. I don't understand why that person would even want to be affiliated with a religious institution that is against who they are as a person.
Churches are private organizations and should be allowed to refuse anyone entrance to said establishment. I don't like discrimination, but people should be allowed to practice what they believe in private with out disruption to their beliefs. All with in reason of course.

I say no, especially when it comes to Christianity. One of the core principles of Christianity (that some groups throw out the window or altogether ignore) is tolerance. Jesus taught his followers to love your enemy, and to be tolerant of everyone. The way some Christian groups go against this basic principle of their own religion angers me.

What does this have to do with anything? OPs news was saying that religious institutions are or arn't allowed to discriminate in certain situations. There is no enemy here. Tolerance has nothing to do with whats going on.
No one is forced to send their children to a faith based school. Its an option the parents chose. They make these choices spesificly so they can be taught in a faith based enviroment. At the end of the day you need somone who partakes in that faith in order to teach the values taught by the religious institution.
If you are gay, there is no reason why you should be hired by a FAITH based institution that does not share the same values, as you cannot teach them.
This isn't about discrimination but about who can teach morals and values of a faith better. A practitioner, or somone who isn't.
