i'm 6.00 cause its very VERY unlikely that there is a god but you just cant be a 100% certain about these things, can you?

I'm going to put myself in the area of 6.9.

Nice choice on scale btw. Did you get it from the God Delusion? I know that's where I first saw this scale.

Anyone who is a 1 or a 7 are not really that intelligent in my opinion, since there is always a chance for me to be wrong I can't see how someone can be certain of something that can't be proven. I'm a 6.9
what you have to think about is that if someone is certain of something in their own mind, then no amount of persuasion will change that, and that is why people will be a one or a seven
I think you misunderstand. Ofcouse there are people like that. I don't respect them and I also think that they are being closeminded idiots. I understand they exist and understand why they believe with such certainty, but I certainly don't respect them.
in which case, call me a close-minded idiot. there is certainty in my mind about the non-existance of God

agnostics, you annoy me. I chose 7 because 6.9 is closer. Ive thought about it, and I dont not think god exists. 0% chance. but then we all need to agree on what "god" is first so we can come to an arrangement. Because omnipotent and all powerful are kinda vague....what qualify s as all powerful anyways?
anywho, no we do not now KNOW for certain god doesnt exist. But ive lived long enough to know there is nothing fantastical about the universe except its very existence, that cannot be proved or disproved. the god concept was invented by people, that much i know. I dont really trust people because they tend to do stupid stuff(religion) or believe in irrelevant things(god/souls/ghosts). And i especially dont trust a 2000 year old book that has seen way too many incompetent translators for it to make sense anymore.

About 6.50. I'm not entirely sure there isn't a God but there isn't enough proof for me.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

Wait ... Isn't that statement kind of ... absolute?

Oops. Well, maybe it's wrong and non-Sith sometimes deal in absolutes and only a Sith always ... wait. Okay. Maybe Sith have a very strong correlation with a tendency to deal in absolu..... Oh, who the **** cares?

...

These aren't the Druids you're looking for.

And I'm equally as certain that it is the God of Christianity.
Why?

Indeed!

The OP specifically said "God", not "a god" or "a god-like being" or "one or more god-like beings" or "something easily mistaken for a god either immediately or in constant re-tellings over time" or anything like that. By using "God", it makes the question about any of the invisible sky-fairies of our monotheistic religions ...
... and on that question, I answer 7.00000000

i skid up and down the scale around twice every day.

my beliefs are very inconsistent. so at any time i can be anywhere between 2.0 and 6.0.

So if God, who I severely doubt exists, presented himself to you and with scientific methods we determined he was infact the deity of the Christian religion....you would still not believe?

I'm a 6.9 as well and Agnosticism is really inane. It doesn't answer the question of 'do you believe' at all. Ofcourse all evidence points to there being no god, but if actual hard-evidential proof was presented I would change my mind.

I'm about 5.00, as I'm a heretic by nature, but feel that there is absolutely zero evidence to prove or disprove the existence of a deity.

wow, uh,"but if actual hard-evidential proof was presented I would change my mind.".....really?you would change your mind, simply because incontrovertible proof was presented to you?....jk, jk.....SO what exactly qualifies as a god?

I am a three point zero in that I am not sure if there is a God or not but I mostly think that there is a God. However, if he does indeed exist then I am not sure what he (or she, in the spirit of open-mindedness) wants me do to about it.

2.0 < Me < 4.0 varies from day to day but from a educated point of view I have to personally take a more neutral. The best thing I can do is be a "good Catholic" aka not be a giant **** to others.

I don't see how anyone vote 1 or 7, unless they are privy to some information I do not have access to. Despite growing up a christian, I'd say that the only God could exist is that there is something going on that is way over anyone's head.
I agree with you Markness, without evidence supporting either one of the two extremes, no reasonable person should believe absolutely that there is or isn't a God.

And that is why Atheist make me queasy (assuming they are a 7.0). How can people be so stubborn about an assumption. But I do have a hell of a time when a 1.0 and a 7.0 are in the same room.
