I'm not religious, but I am one hundred percent certain there is a God.
I just have my own idea about what God is.
An idea that I refuse to push on anyone else unless they ask.
And even then it's hard to put into words.
Well I ask, cause honestly Im intrigued?
Sorry, but I am way too tired to explain it properly right now.
Maybe some other time.
gotcha, no problem.... I was just curious about how someone could have that kind of belief, not religious but believe in a god I mean... It's very interesting to me
God is part of my meaning of life. We live to experience suffering so our souls can grow. Our souls are all fragments of God.
Buh. That is a gross over-simplification, and missing a lot of parts, but I am honestly way too tired to go into it.
I actually would love to explain it properly to you, I just can't think to put it into words.

Hey, thanks for trying, I think I might understand the basic idea.

I more like a 6.42 or something...I tried the whole believing in a higher authority, but my young mind just refused to believe it. Just call me whatever you like.

I'm at a three. I'm not too sure, but there could be (a) god(s).

7 in terms of Christianity's God. 4 in terms of supreme force that keeps existance going.

In the words of Martin Luthor: I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God. Amen.

Man I love that guy.
Not to insult your beliefs, but is that the same Martin Luther who inspired the term "Lutheran"?

Because if he did, you might not want to proclaim your love for him just yet.

Among others, he wrote a book named On The Jews and Their Lies, in which Luther advocated the destruction of synagogues, seizing Jews' property and money, and destroying their homes, in order that these "poisonous envenomed worms" would be forced into labour or expelled "for all time".

Just pointing out the facts.

i fink its quite common actually, people believe that there is a god but each religion is wrong in a certain way i.e hallal meat or the opposition of abortion. some eventually find a comfortable one or just go on with the knowleadge that there is a god.
i suppose that's basically agnostic right?
Well no agnosticism is when ur not sure, people don't have to be religious to believe in god religion is the bureaucratic side of belief i suppose, a system in place to help organize the practice of a very common belief, but i would say its just as common not to adhear and still believe a it were.

Also side point, i'm Buddhist, do we come under "other"?

isnt agnostic your not sure if there is a god or not? what im thinking of is your sure theres a god but your not sure which religion has got it right, if any.

Anyone who is a 1 or a 7 are not really that intelligent in my opinion, since there is always a chance for me to be wrong I can't see how someone can be certain of something that can't be proven. I'm a 6.9

I don't see how anyone vote 1 or 7, unless they are privy to some information I do not have access to. Despite growing up a christian, I'd say that the only God could exist is that there is something going on that is way over anyone's head.

Respectable skeptic. A member of society that, through questioning it, makes the world better.

I am like 6.5... I am not arrogant enough to presume that I know for certain that there is no "God" but given the evidence for both sides of the argument I just cant believe.

I am much more opposed to Religion rather than any "God", as Bill Maher said "If there is one thing I hate more than prophecy, it's self-fulfilling prophecy".

what you have to think about is that if someone is certain of something in their own mind, then no amount of persuasion will change that, and that is why people will be a one or a seven

aka bloody mindedness, i agree people should be open, but then again i agree there are things i feel 100% in support of, im not saying i wouldnt change my mind but they are things which are generally beyond question ... e.g gravity

I think you misunderstand. Ofcouse there are people like that. I don't respect them and I also think that they are being closeminded idiots. I understand they exist and understand why they believe with such certainty, but I certainly don't respect them.
