I already knew about this. I'm pretty indifferent. But hey, good on ya for having some pride in your country. :)

Cangaroos are damm tasty don't know about Lemurs. Anyway is eating one animal really all that different from eating another? (Assuming that neither animal is human and neither is either endangered or is a product of bio-industry)

Indifferent. Both to the consumption of kangaroo meat (which tastes like very lean beef) or emu meat (haven't tasted that...yet), and to the concept that eating animals from your country's coat of arms is something akin to sacrilege.

You're allowed to raise emus if you can get your hands on them, right? What little I know of Australia is what I used to pit my Australian friend and my New Zealander friend against each other. Like that one "folk hero" who was caught wearing a suit or armor.

Yeah, I'm not interested in eating bald eagle. Not because of that symbolic thing, but because there are so many other things that I rather eat. I'm not an adventurous eater.

Why wouldn't we?

I've never had emu. Kangaroo reminds me of rabbi meat.

Oh yeah? Well Canada has a fucking UNICORN on it's coat of arms. It's pretty awesome.

Also, there are no unicorns, but eating one would be pretty interesting. I bet they would taste like horse, rainbows and candy.

Most don't put animals that you eat on your Coat of Arms, since they're usually considered "weak". So it doesn't seem that weird imo.

I had them for lunch on my school camp, there is nothing wrong with eating good meat. And there are plenty of Kangaroo's in Australia.

Damn... Why can't we have lions in Finland, we would be allwoed to eat them if we go by this logic. Would be nice to try some exotic meat sometime.

Kangaroo's alright, but I didn't much care for emu. Too strong. Crocodile's the money meat.

Australia is the only country to eat the animals on it's coat of arms.
Yep, damn straight. For those you don't know our coat of arms http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Australia

That's right rest of world, we eat Kangaroos and Emus, they is tasty :D

So, how awesome/disgusting do you think this is?
And also I welcome epic Kanga/emu recipes :D
As long as the animal is not sentient or made to suffer beyond reason (shooting a deer then having to sprint up to it to put another bullet through its head) then I say go nuts and eat it.

Incorrect, in Canada we eat lions and unicorns at least once a week.
Have you seen the price of good Unicorn these days? I haven't been able to afford it for a while now, and Lion is getting pretty bad as well. At least Sasquatch is still at a reasonable price.

I don't see why that's a big deal at all, are emus are really intelligent form of bird? Because if not I couldn't care less if you were eating an emu or a chicken. Same applies to kangaroos, as long as the animal is not that closely related to humans, I couldn't give less of a damn.
