Have you seen District 9 yet? The hand of Peter 'all in bad taste' Jackson is highly evident throughout. Not least the comedy head 'sploding bolt near the end.

I still get the feeling that you're confusing your opinion with solid fact. Usually not a good idea.

Still, whatever you think yourself, doesn't bother me.
If everyone cared about that, the Internet wide would be empty.

Also - does "Ring of the lord" sounds dirty to anyone else?

Yea... I'm gonna have to go with none like the few above. Personally, I read the book as a kid and enjoyed it, was kind of funny, I remember walking into a bookstore and just happening to pick it up and saying oh man this looks cool. Like a year and a half later the first movie comes out. I was incredibly bored though, I remember going to the first one all ecstatic and then wanting to dig my way out of the theater 3/4ths through just begging for it to end. I ended up getting dragged to the 2nd by an ex, slept through most except the battles, didn't bother going to the 3rd.

Fellowship is my favourite by far. I'm not sure why, but it might be the atmosphere around the "adventure" part that really appeals to me.

Hmm.. Maybe I'll watch that movie tonight.

No duh it's my opinion and also Pull the other one!

Ah screw it, we are just going to keep repeating ourselves.
Let's face it, you're an A-movie guy, and I'm a B-movie guy. I like gore, sthick and black humour, and you like epicness, storytelling and pacing.

And I know that Avatar is technically an A movie, but look into it and you'll find is B-movie sensibilities with an A-movie budget. Same with Kong, to a point.
Actually I'm an all movie guy, I like any movie that can be considered good (including Avatar and King Kong) and there is no B-movie sensibilities in Avatar, maybe in Kong though.

I don't confuse anything, I already said "no duh it's my opinion", I never say "but that's just my opinion" or "to me" because it's obvious it is.

You came flying in here with the first post pointing out what you prefer and I argue because I just don't get it, you say you love violence (who doesn't) and then I point out movies that hardly anymore violent than LotR (Kong and Avatar).

You don't need to explain or anything but seriously, it is confusing.

Haven't read any of the books. Haven't seen any of the movies. Nothing against it. Just never had the chance to do so.

The two towers and return of the king were far better than the fellowship of the ring. There should have been tim bombadil

Have to say your missing out, I would say they are the best movies of the 2000s, although your going to have to plan when to watch them since they go for 4 hours each.

I guess the second one. I never really saw them as that excellent, but they weren't bad.
I know a guy who bought all 3, extended edition dvds (as if they weren't long enough already) and 2 replica swords. I really can't understand that.

And violence is everything to me! I love gory and violent films!
You should watch Irreversible.

I thought I was hardcore with movie violence until I saw that Fire Extinguisher scene...

would have to be two towers because it's got that big battle in it.
I know that so has return of the king but that film is far too long for me.
And the first one sucked I still do not think that I have seen it all the way through.

I hated them all. I miss the Peter Jackson who made Brain Dead (Dead alive to Americans) and Meet the Feebles, bring him back!

Although if I had to choose which annoyed me the least, Two Towers. Dunno why.

EDIT: I mean seriously, for me this is so much better than the battle of Helms whatever.

GORE!

I did like King Kong, however.
Jackson was horrid at B-movies failed by all accounts if you compare him to Wood or Raimi, or hell Uwe Boll even got what it was about or Tarantino/Clooney with from Dusk till Dawn just the right amount of excess, stlye and music. All Jackson did was throw excess on a screen and capture it poorly campy does not work if you try THAT hard to do it.

On the topic they were all pretty good definently watchable and even memorable at times and thank fuck he cut the whole Tom Bombadill Arc thta thing went fuckin nowhere. Far better than my generations high fantasy movie anyway:

Consider yourselves lucky.

Ugh.. must I choose? They were all pretty boring. And the homosexual midgets didn't help :(

Well I clicked one. I didn't see which one. Presumably it's the one where they use the Ring to play hide-the-willy when all their friends are around.

I liked Return of the King because it was pretty much all the things I loved about the first two mixed into one without any of the old flaws and frankly it was just one big battle scene and it rocked.
