Well, the only RPG with and actual fully customisable character creation I've played are the Phantasy Star online games. In which I made a short purple haired woman. She rocked.

My RPG characters are the spitting image of me, right down to the wispy medieval man mane, rippling eight pack, and enormous charisma stat.

Eh, I don't tend to make my characters look like me. I either go for looking stereotypically good for males, looking like the quiet nerdy type for females, or just looking absurdly strange for either gender. It's fun.

Despite my attempts to try I'm always a nut whether I'm in character or out, but in terms of look I don't really think I'd care to try. I usually got for a rather eccentric, blunt, and somewhat crude individual with an odd sense of humor, in terms of looks I swear it can vary incredibly, but if there is a lore attached to the character race I try to keep with it somewhat :3. Yes, yes I am a nerd.

Ivy is hot as HELL. *has a momentary fantasy bout doing very evil things with Ivy and gets a glazed, stupid look on his face* sorry, did you say something?
True as that may be, I still would get tired of looking at her after 5 or 6 hours of playing as her.
*doesn't hear a word, he's right back in la-la-land. mumbles absently,* "mmmmm.... yeah, Ivy, I like that.... yeah, baby.... Oh, it's ok, whip me with that sword whip, its alright, I don't mind...."

Usually a long-haired male. Usually a mage or something similarily... intelectual. Like Librarian. Or Book Store owner. Oh yes, I play the best games.

Whenever I need a second character it's always female. Funny, that.

A character that resembled me would be so utterly useless in any kind of battle.

Now lets all drink some beer and smoke!

I just realised that i started this thing, but I never actually put in my two cents. I never make characters look like me. My characters are cooler and better looking than me, they're pretty much what I wish I could be.

My characters are usually female, so no, they don't look like me, being a guy and all. To me, playing an RPG isn't so much about the role-playing or story aspects as it is about the gameplay, so I've never and imagined it's me doing these things in-game.

I figure if I'm going to be staring a character for hours on end, it might as well be one I find attractive and not the typical unintentionally goofy males you find in these games; though like Xitel, I tend to stay away from the big boobs and bikinis and go for a more modest look.

I just try to make any game character of any genre look as fucked up as possible. I see myself every day in the mirror, why would I want to see him on the screen? Also, it makes it more interesting than creating the most hardcore looking dude ever which most people seem to do. It really seems to piss off people when they get killed by an obvious joke character.

Well my most distinctive feature is that despite being 17, im 5'7. My smallest friend is 5'11, so i normally always play as gnomes in WOW. In galaxies my first character was an near exact likeness of myself- par the armour and laser rifle, but then i started making aliens. Same with Oblivion

I once made a female character in the original KOTOR, just to see how it would change the game since Revan is a male. I had only done one or two quests on Taris when my x box red lighted. So no female Revan for me. And if you know, don't tell me. I'm going to replace my x box soon and I will find out then.
