I usually have a wide range of tolerance for games but there are just times when I've tried and tried and nothing has worked out for me. So when pushed into a corner, do you use a walkthrough or a cheat code?

Not cheats, they disable achievements!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O

Nah seriously, I will on occasion use a walkthrough, for something really hard, tedious, annoying or just long (and I don't want to miss anything and have to go back). Otherwise no, I'm legit.

There was this one oil rig map in Syphon Filter Omega Strain that had a small, hidden passage that was impossible to find
[sup] Note: It was crucial to the mission to find this vent[/sup]. I used a walktrough on that one map but other than that I don't use those methods all too often.

I had no choice but to look up a walkthrough for the Bahamut Eidolon fight in FF13. Still can't beat him. He attacks so damn fast, and hits everyone for a massive amount of damage. It's just not fair.

I used a walkthrough for that whole game. :/

OT: I use anything that will help me proceed in a game. Failing over and over again is not...fun.

I only use walkthroughs if the part is difficult or there are collectibles. I try not to use cheatcodes except for laughs.

I always try to figure it out myself, and usually succeed.

Interestingly, the only time I couldn't continue was in "The Movies", because there just weren't enough people to hire! Walkthoughs are useless, and there aren't any "cheats".

So I downloaded a mod, broke it, rewrote half of it, and fixed the game.

Beats your walkthrough or cheats any day!

I usually only consult a walkthrough as a last resort. Assuming there's cheats available, I'll only use them if I'm getting fed up with the game, but I'll usually stop playing before I get to that point.

It was tempting, but it's easier to just sit on the couch and play the game than getting over to the computer and checking up on a walktrough.
I know, I'm a lazy fuck : /

I usually don't but if I need a walk through chances are the game isn't very well designed...

I try to make it on my own, but if worst comes to worst, I use a walkthrough.

I can never even find cheats for most of the games I play. If I'm stuck walkthroughs are really my only option.

I only use cheat codes if it increases the game's funnies (Like that cheat in CoD4 where your enemies explode into car tyres).

I usually try to push on by myself, but for search quests I ALWAYS have a look at a walkthrough because I utterly HATE hunting in every hole and corner just to find some special plot device.

I used a walkthrough for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune once because I didn't know where to jump.

I don't make a habit of using walkthroughs; I only use them when I really can't figure out what to do, or how something works, then I stop looking at it when I move on. But if I use cheat codes I feel like I've... well, cheated. A first time through a game that was altered to make it easier isn't an honest completion of a game.
