When I'm being sarcastic, I normally put (!) at the end of my sentence.

For example, "Oh, putting your head in a microwave was a great idea(!)" or "Oh, kicking that alien was the best plan you've ever had(!)"

It works well, I think.
I vote for this. I like this a lot. It just makes sense.

I voted yes, but in actuality, I don't care.

Because I just LOVE assuming that everyone's being sarcastic...

This was the first time ever that the joke option in the poll actually made me smile instead of annoying me. Kudos to you, TomLikesGuitar.

We desperately need it, let's all of us together agree on one! I don't use any, I just assume that everybody instantly understand me since I'm so awesome. But if I have to, I use [sarcasm]. I like (!), I'll try that.

ツ You are so smart! ツ

Hm... That kind of works but it makes it too obvious. Sarcasm should be obvious but not too obvious because then you might as well not even use it.

I guess you just have to make it more obvious on the net. Use italics and bold.

Or talk in novel form:

"Oh, I'm sure no one has thought up this thread before," I said sarcastically while I rolled my eyes at the topic creator, "Really. Your idea is terrific. Maybe we should even enforce it."

We shouldn't be making it easier for people to understand sarcasm. If people can't understand it we should mock them in a sarcastic way.
indeed, but its not about understanding sarcasm its about telling when sarcasm is being employed, which in plain prose isn't always apparent, or at least is open to misconstruction.

I've certainly seen plenty of situations where people have misconstrued a sarcastic comment and all hell has broken loose.
this. when a sarcastic remark goes well, its hilarious

when it is misconstrued...well...fuck. you got some angsty over literal people freaking out.
