i think it's fine provided you ar prepared to deal with the potential consequences (children, disease). If not, then you probrably shouldn't be fucking at all.

Ah, "hos" basically.

I had a friend like that. I've but so much respect for them if any, as I don't condone anything related to adultery. And before anyone starts, men can be just as much hos as women if not more - contrary to popular belief, the term is very much indiscriminate.

This is the internet: Everyone here is a fat virgin and will die a fat virgin, or in prison for rape.

Therefore, people are all gonna say they are fine with promiscuity either as overcompensation to hide inadequacy (think "Brucie, baby!") or due to the fact that they are willing to try any level of debauchery to end their own loneliness.
I do wonder, how do things look from up there on that imaginary pedestal you have created for yourself?

You are on the internet. Get over yourself.
I'd ignore him if I were you. Trying to argue the point to him would be like hitting your head on a brick wall; it's painful and does no-one any good.

I realize that, yeah. Sometimes hypocrisy is hard to let go unchecked, but I won't press it either.

I hate it. I can't stand the idea that an activity meant to create new life is reduced to the level of a simple hobby like jogging or something. I think it should mean 1000x more than that and not shared with just anyone.

I believe it shows a severe lack of self-worth and confidence within any individual who chooses to do that to him or herself. Lust just shows what you lack on the inside as a person.

It's your life, do what you wish. I'm not promiscuous because I have a great girlfriend and she's the only person I've ever been with in anything more-than-friends.

I don't really see what's wrong with "promiscuity". It's a lifestyle choice. Stay safe, and I bet it's a lot of fun. It's a different kind of fun from having a meaningful relationship, but you'll always have time for that later. Some people just want to live their youth before they have to focus on jobs, marriage, kids, etc. Others are happy staying with one person.

I just need to clarify what this thread, as I'm seeing a lot of people not getting the point. I'm asking for people's personal opinions on the topic in here, not your political views, or what you think about the character of the 'opposing faction'.

So play nice.

[small]P.S: People who dislike promiscuity don't necessarily want every person who indulges in lotsa Casual Sex to be shot or imprisoned, as I get the feeling many people think; just felt like saying that.[/small]

I don't see what's bad about promiscuity, provided they're responsible enough to do everything they can to prevent the spread of STDs. The spread of disease is really the only reason not to be promiscuous (unless you're in a relationship, but that's another story).

I don't hate it, but I think you shouldn't have loads of partners. I'm fine with anyone who is though.

I'm all for being in a relationship, but until I find someone I'm willing to pursue one with, I see nothing wrong with having some fun. I get called a slut by some people, but that's just because of the double-standard. As long as both people involved know that it's nothing more than fun, what's the issue?

That being said, I'm not one for one-night-stands. I lean more toward friends-with-benefits relationships.

I don't have a problem with it and struggle to see why anyone would have a problem with two consenting adults doing whatever the fuck they want.
You literally stole my post. :) This is what I had typed up before I refreshed the page to see if there were any new replies -

It's not my problem. If two adults consent to having sex with one another, then they can bloody well do so. And for me personally, I don't consider sex a sacred act or anything, but I don't think I'd get anything out of sleeping with a lot of people.
Double post stolen. :(

Why on earth would I have a problem with it?

Without context it's hard to judge. Im not for it but I wouldn't punish anyone for it. They would just lose my respect.

I take it where I can get it, longterm relationships are usualy a hastle and the benefits outside of retirement when the junks not of much use anymore anyway are limited.

I am apathetic about everything ever.

That said, anyone who gets STIs from being a whore, regardless of gender, should not expect sympathy from me.
Raucous laughter, but not sympathy.

I'm a one woman kind of guy, and I'm the jealous type as well. So if my theoretical girlfriend ever goes outside our relationship it will be over...

For the most part I don't care that much, male or female, unless it's someone I want to be with. I avoid relationships/sleeping with anyone who has had to many individual partners then what I am ok with. Essentially 2 or 3 people per year when averaged. I don't care how much sex you had with those people but if you have been having sex for let's say 4 years but you have had like 15-20 different people I don't care how cool you are I would not want to risk it.

I take the Desire of Endless approach to promiscuity...
For the 12 Sandman readers that just chuckled, thank you.
Seriously though, I believe that (when done safely and responsibly) promiscuity is the spice of life!
Do it (with protection and mutual understanding of course) with anyone you want!
Go for the gold!
