As long as you avoid STD's and, if you're female, unwanted pregnancy's, I'm perfectly fine with it.

On the social aspects of it, I'm not concerned with how much sex someone has so much as their expression of it; having lots of sex is fine, constantly bragging about it while wearing "ghetto" clothing is not.

Why should I care what anybody chooses to do with their own body? It has no effect on me, as long as I'm not in a sexual relationship with the person in question. That's the only time their sexual history is any of my business, purely because I'd need to know if there are any health concerns I'd need to be aware of.

I myself have only ever slept with one person, despite being in a few other relationships over the years, but my approach to sexual relationships is mine and mine alone. Everyone has their own needs, and people should be able to experience love and life in anyway they so choose. I personally don't seek out sex or feel any need for it outside of a committed relationship, but I completely understand people who just want to go out and have some kinky fun every once in a while without getting tied down to one person.

'Meh.'

I'm not what you would call 'promiscuous', but I... suppose I don't really care about it? Somebody wants to sleep with a ton of folks, that's their choice - as long as he doesn't bug me with it, then what's the problem?

So far, other peoples sex lives have had no significant effect on my life...so I don't care.

Seriously, have sex with a horse if you want to, do "the nasty" with all of the farm animals, it just doesn't matter.

I think people are naturally promiscuous, it's not natural to settle down with one person forever. I have no problem with it, as long as the promiscuous one doesn't prey on other people's partners.

This is my view, but the thing is, how can you be sure that the other person or yourself hasn't gotten an STI/STD without realising? And then there is that the female might get all maternal if she gets pregnant and no longer wish to get an abortion. So sure, between reasonable, consenting adults that know the potential consequences of their actions, promiscuity is all well and good.

Don't care enough to BE promiscuous.

It's not often that people simply don't try and happen to be promiscuous. Usually the people that don't try AREN'T promiscuous.

I just think it's stupid, that's all. This whole "sex is sex" argument doesn't fly with me. Sex was once an expression of love, but nowadays it's just something you do to have fun. I personally think that's not living life to the best, and while I'll only be angry if someone's really obnoxious about it, I think others would be a lot happier if they took sex and love more seriously.

My worldview is very much about me just letting people be people. Screw like bunnies if you want(doubly so when we finally colonize Mars) but I personally prefer monogamy.

It's a person's prerogative, but I don't support the idea, not that I would ever have the opportunity to have multiple sexual partners. Hell, I'll be lucky if I ever have one.

Ditto. A Petri dish and a handful of nerds can make a baby, a hand can make stimulation, but it takes two to make love.

Before we start, let me just clarify that personal opinions are to be put in this thread. Your political opinions may contradict your personal opinions; you may hate promiscuity, but you wouldn't restrict the freedom of promiscuous individuals if you were President/Prime Minister/Chancellor/Chuck Norris.

I dislike Promiscuity, being the old-fashioned bastard I am. I don't see what there is to gain by having so many sexual partners. I'm bound by those timeless codes of conduct of honour, chivalry, and respect; usually things that run contrary to the idea of engaging in Casual Sex.

I'm looking to gauge the Escapist community on this, being the smart, intelligent and damn sexy people you are.
Well how about that. A fellow gentleman.

I'm not big on it myself, but I don't have too much of an issue with it as long as it's not excessive, and as long as it's not just a cry for respect/acceptance from someone with self-esteem issues.

But, since my attitude towards it changes every week or two, I voted "Meh".

SLUTS ARE SLUTS!

girls who sleep around disgust me, guys will sleep with you, but when it comes to being in a long term relationship, they won't touch you. Pointless tbh.
ah yes...the old double standard

The only issue I have with people who sleep around, is if they try to sleep with my mate.
