Poll: Shaving

Just a quick discussion, i just got done shaving (my face) and i have always found it a sort of.. calming task, i get very calm and when i am done i feel good about myself, am i insane? or do a lot of people feel like this?

It's a double edged sword for me, I enjoy it for the fresh feeling but I'm rubbish at it and normally miss bit which annoy me for the rest of the day until I can shave them off.

To be honest I don't enjoy the act, but I hate having facial hair so much that I do it religiously.

I don't shave, cause I can't grow a beard. Well, okay, I'm only 15, but nobody in my family can grow a proper beard.

I only shave once every few days, so it's not that big a deal, but I'm really not a fan of it. It beats having facial hair though.

I find shaving pretty calming as well, to be honest. It's just, I don't know, relaxing, I think.

Plus there's the added bonus of not having an itchy face.

This. But to finish the double edged sword part, I tend to get razor burn regardless of how fresh the blade is/ how much hair is on my face regardless of how much aftershave I use. I utterly hate having to shave.

Also I can not stand having a clean shaven face. The skin always feels icy and well, peoples faces without some facial hair seem to lack character.

I agree. I only use the electric, and I don't even use the close shave setting, just the trimmer to get it anywhere from 1-12mm. I haven't used a bladed razor for about 2 years, and I haven't looked back. Clean shaven sucks.

I hate shaving with a passion. I started out having a goatee solely for the fact that it meant less of my face to shave. I'm like a damn wookiee.

That too, you need to have some facial hair. It's like a sign of manliness.

Pretty much that. I loathe the act of shaving, but anything except my goatee bothers me.

The facial hair on my cheeks and under my jaw itch like hell for some reason, so I shave that off and keep the goat.

....About once a month. I hate shaving.

I wouldn't necessarily say I "enjoy" it, but I don't find it a chore to do.

It's bloody annoying and seems to always take ages, and you still never get it perfect.

I hate it, for no apparent reason.
So I always have some degree of facial hair.
But sometimes I get a full shave, just to mix it up a bit.
