Poll: shotgun or sniper which do you prefer?

Sniping all the way; I think there's something more to it when you have to time things just right, control your breathing, wait for the right moment... and then *boom*.
Anyone can just run up at someone and gun them with a boomstick til there's nothing left.

That said, I can do either, and enjoy both. Just prefer the sniping.

I know the intertubes is swarming with snipers but I for one, am a close-ranger FPS gamer, unless the sniper interface happens to be piss-easy. Or against NPCs.

Depends on game on l4d i like shotgun but in fps's like combat arms i like snipers

Well, in Call of Duty 4, when 95%(made up statistic) of the user base uses cheap perks like martyrdom and last stand, I don't have to worry about them if I'm on the other side of the map when I take them down.

I can use a shotgun because of the spray and the general "point at guy, he dies" aproach.
The fact that a sniper has a small crosshair means I have to be precise and when I play a competitive game (ALL of them) I get jumpy and my thumb moves the crosshairs in jerks, not smooth motions that help you aim.
I played a snipers match in Halo 2 and my only kills were beat downs and assinations and one stick. I shot 3 people, no kills. it was like 3 of 20 shots hit.
I am almost the world's worst in-game sniper.

I grew up with Nintendo and some PC, so my right thumb has never been able to fully grasp precision enough for sniping =.=

Sneaking behind people with a perfect shotgun kill is just so sweet. Or just rushing at them with one is fun too.
