Poll: shotgun or sniper which do you prefer?

I really like both. (in games that let you have both, a shotgun and a sniper would be my ideal loadout, but when that fails, just give me an SMG)

Due to too much time playing Quake, I have ridiculously good reactions in FPSes, so I usually go with the shotgun. I don't have the patience to snipe, and if they're scoped, I can sneak around behind them and blow them away without them even realising.

It depends on the situation or the circumstances. Generally I prefer the sniper as the shotgun is a little less... subtle.

I hardly ever go for any of the two. I take what I have when I re-spawn and just fight like that. Though lately I have been getting better with the sniper rifle if Halo 3.
