Poll: shotgun or sniper which do you prefer?

The Sniper is a long range shotgun except in a few instances like TF2. With a sniper you can quickly pop down the sights, fire and kill in one hit at any range. With a shotgun you can only do that at short range and even then it might not be a one hit kill.

Aiming is overrated.

The only time you wouldn't need to aim is at point blank with birdshot. And then it probably wouldn't be instantly lethal to a human (just look at the mishap Cheney had.)

No, combat-loaded 12-guage 00 buck only has 8 pellets per shell. You still need to aim. And then the spread'll make the gun pretty much useless past 25-30 yards.

I'll take a rifle over a shotgun, so long as the rifle had back iron sights along with the scope.

Given that I have a good nest and view of my targets, sniping. It gives me such a cozy feeling for some reason.

Of course, I also like going in and shooting dudes in the face, I just personally like sniping more.

Depends on the situation.

I don't think I want to snipe in a small area with the ennemy next to me. I also don't want to bring a shotgun for a long range fight.

I couldn't really choose either. My specialty is the good old fashioned, well rounded assault rifle. Battle rifles are a close second though, and I do prefer them in some games. Killing Floor (M14 EBR) and CoD4 (G3) for example of such games.

Sniper rifles, with the range you get with a shotgun in most games, you'd be better off useing your knife (or just beating them over the head with the gun for that matter).

I'm gonna go with this. I find it impossible to aim properly using a thumbstick on a controller. I need a mouse for that.

But I prefer sniper rifle's over shotguns, they're just more "interesting"...*twitch*...
