Click "forums" at the top of this page. Then select the category that your thread would go into. At the upper-right, there is a button that says "new topic" or something like that. press that, and there you go.
Thanks a lot. I've looked and the button is in fact kinda obscure.

The trailer for it made it look like some sand penises rise from the ground and the little sisters have to rely on their home-made ragtag big daddy dolls as a weapon against them.

I think Bioshock can have both a prequel and a sequel; there's enough back-story there.
The prequel can take place before and during "Atlas's rebellion" on New Years, and the sequel... well, that's kind of self-explanatory. Personally I want to see Rapture go from "wrecked" in the original to "decayed ruins" in a sequel. I'd have to pick a sequel over a prequel though... some back-stories work better if they leave some of it in the dark and just leave some clues for you to find.

From what signs we have so far, it's a sequel. However, a great deal of BioShock fans thought it'd be neat to have a prequel - to actually witness the fall of Rapture firsthand.

My preference? Neither - let Ken Levine and co. decide for themselves.
What else is there? A companion?
Just "neither" as in "no preference."

I'd like to see something in the distant future, more cyberpunk, and maybe instead of bioshock, they could call it system shock, and instead of 2 it could be 3....man that would be awsome.

From what I've heard and collected, it's not set in Rapture, doesn't have the original design team, and Ken Levine has almost, if not nothing, to do with it. However, judging by the teaser for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, it looks to be a sequel set in the same Universe as Bioshock (Plasmids, ADAM, Rapture, Ryan, etc.), but otherwise disconnected from the original.

Not to be a Yahtzee fanboy here, but it would really do Bioshock some good if it could distance itself further away from its inspiration System Shock 2 by changing a lot more from cyberpunk to steampunk (as big a fan as I am of steampunk).

A prequel would be pretty cool, to see rapture being built and everything going fine then the eve and genetic modification screw everything up, but then again it might not have that eeriness any more.

I think i read somewhere that its kind of a half prequel, half sequel, like it starts off as a prequel and you play through that and it explains everything and whatnot, and then it skips past the events of BioShock 1 and you continue from where it ended. Don't quote me on that though

Personally, I think that this is the kind of game the does not need a sequel.

Honestly? Nothing. NOTHING.
Seriously, BioShock was a masterpiece that should be preserved and kept alive through memories. Up to five sequels, as far as I hear, and there is NO way that they can be good. After such an amazing and well-made game as BioShock, I really don't think that the companies should be shitting all over it.
After all, Rapture is pretty much done for, and there are two endings, both of which could have had a dramatically different effect, and therefore they would have to choose one or the other to actually make a sequel work.
And a prequel? Half the fun of the game was piecing together the story yourself by finding diaries and such. BioShock was a very psychological and generally amazing game, and I really want to see it stay that way, rather than turn out as another Resident Evil/Silent Hill.

So, in conclusion, no sequel, no prequel, leave it how it is, bitches!

'Steampunk' requires magic, not 'plasmids'. Also it needs top hats.

Wrong. Steampunk requires boiling hot water, and parts for it to move.
Also, top hats would be awesome, but they shouldn't overdo it.

I swear I saw a splicer with a top hat at one point.

Probably. Now that I think about it, I think I have too.
Still, there should be more, although they should be subtle.
EDIT: Fixed my failed quoting job.

A prequel has more potential. The original it set up like the final one, which it should be. But they already said they'll make 3, so I'm not sure if they're just working backwards or what.

I just don't want the VitaChambers, I feel those would not exist in a prequel, but would in a sequel, thus, I would like a prequel.

Remmember remmember the fifth of November and the second of System Shock. I'd go for a sequel, maybe in some other underwater city. Or, seeing how loosely SS2 was tied to SS1, some other steampunky location.

If they made a prequel then they would have to choose which one of the 2 endings in the first game is canonical... and that can be pretty tricky.
As long as the gameplay is fun, story is nice and maybe has a nice twist at the end then I'll be happy.
