1. Special licensing bureau
2. Official consent of both parties.
3. 48 hour period to consider the consequences of the duel

There you go.

Now where did I put my dueling glove.

No if it only lead to death/ killing. If it was fake as in using rubber bullet then maybe however what will be the point of the duel in the first place, pride and honour?

Even in the old days when dueling was legal, nobody would have anything to do with you if you won. If you won, you would be treated like you had committed a horrible crime. If you lost, you were dead.

Yes.
But lethal weapons are banned.

Paintball Duelling or something humiliating like a whole wet salmon or handbags.

Handbags at dawn would be amazing, pure comedy.
This.
Maybe give locational damage points. Like, headshot gives 10 points, body shot gives you 5, disarming gives you 20 for honour shots.

I think we had a thread like this a while ago.

Anyway, On topic, No. No, because think about it. How many people will challenge others to duels, the person wont want to, and then its basically just murder cause one person had a level head.
I was under the impression both persons had to consent to it. Paperwork maybe?
Not necessarily. Alexander Hamilton was killed in a Duel with Aaron Burr because Hamilton showed up to say he wouldnt duel, and Burr just shot Hamilton pretty much cold blood.
No it was a fair duel. There was a crowd of spectators too.
Its not really fair if the guy you challenged didnt make the honest effort. I could go get someone may age to fight me and have a crowd of people, then beat the shit out of him because he refused to fihgt back.

EDIT:

I know, I just odnt see the format changing much, since everyone loves the idea of just walking up to soeone and syaing "hey, you, you insulted me. fight me *****."

A good way to weed out the impulsive, confrontational idiots in the world so why not?
It would also be the only thing on the Jersey shore if you've ever seen an episode of that. I unfortunately have and I would find it so much more entertaining to watch if there were duels

Only in New Jersey. We could do without most of the people there...

Any action undertaken by consenting individuals, so long as it does not cause harm or inconvenience upon non-consenting individuals, should be legal.

I see duelling a noble way to settle disputes between true gentlemen, it also allows a way for those who have been wronged to avenge their family name.

yes but there should be legal things involved like paper work also there should be a comity of some sort to decide if there is president for a duel.

It would be awesome if the disputes can be settled in any way as long as both parties agree to it and there are witnesses...

Air Guitars at dawn baby

As for the fatal duels, let them go for it. If they want to be boring and go for pistols at dawn rather than Halo at dawn, let them.

Whooo!! Another new law for when I become a dictator!

#) Any serious dispute may be settled by a duel to the death. Both parties must agree and the accused party may choose the weapons used and set the date. (date can not be longer then 6 months from when the duel is accepted) State will provide the fighting arena. (Live broadcast on a pay channel!)

No. What if I decide I want to murder someone in their home without any consequence. All I have to do is plant a gun on the body and claim that we agreed to a duel. It may have "worked" as a way of settling problems in the past, but I like to think that we have evolved as a society to a less barbaric system of law.
