I do triathlons and we are currently in the middle of our season so I have no body hair at all and I do get quite a few comments when I'm out wearing shorts so unless you need to I wouldn't recommend it. Also when it grows back it's insanely itchy.

Personally, I'd rather not leave it to shaving. Simply just evolve away the unwanted hair. So much more efficient.

Yeah. I dislike hairy people. No offense, Wolf Man. Except any hair on the skull. That stuff kicks ass!

I don't think ANYONE should shave, personally. It's a horrid, uncomfortable process and you have to do it all the freaking time to keep from being all stubbly and ew.

We have hair there for a reason, folks.
actually we have it for no reason, hair/fur is used to provide us with warmth and since we have clothing, we no longer have a need for hair on our bodies

and frankly having a bit of hair between your legs isn't the only indication of sexual maturity
While this is true, I still find our almost ritualistic shaving habits distasteful, if not a little pointless. Trimming should do, much like your head-hairs, because it does need to be groomed. I think maybe I'm against complete shaving. It's just an unpleasant process in certain sensitive areas (for both men and women) that I don't feel should be required in order to fit into proper society. Plus the itch.

From what I've gathered, this whole mess started catching on in Victorian times, because the only frame of reference most males had on female anatomy was fine art, often done in marble. The Venus figures wouldn't have pubic or underarm hair, due to the nature of the material used to make them. So you would get men who would marry and then be appalled at that 'unnatural' stuff growing on their wives. Another reference for some were the prostitutes of the time, who would shave to avoid things like lice.

As for the male shaving/waxing, like I said, I feel that you only really need a trim to keep everything in line, unless you are in a serious sport that requires you to be streamline... then knock yourself out. But I guess this all comes down to personal preference.

Unless your embarrsed by the amount of hair you have, no.

That said, I do keep my meat and two veg area trim. Why? Cause it feels cleaner, it makes the wee man look bigger and it encourges my g/f to.....well you know.

I think it would make me look hotter. More, uh, "fabulous."

But I don't do it. If someone does, that's cool. Voted doesn't really matter.

The real question we should be asking ourselves here is : "Should girls shave like guys?"

I know I know... that's deep stuff.

To you it is. I know a lot of girls who LOVE it. Plus men just....dont.
Yeah, I know this is going to come as a shock to a lot of people here, but I'm not a chick.
So perhaps this shouldn't be so surprising.

I shave everything below my neck. People assume I'm gay.
Don't feel too bad.

Also this thread is more than a little disgusting - cutting open people and playing with their organs?
Totally cool.
Body hair?
Gonna be sick.

I suspect that there is something wrong with me.
I never said you were a girl. I just know a lot of people who happen to be females and like body hair. Just sayin.

I've been told that the shaving of the crotch makes the appendage appear proportionally larger.

But unless you swim or road cycle, no.

Only from the face and armpits. I think armpits hair is gross.
Still, I'm not going to judge how men look with and without body hair, but I generally think the fit guys who have waxed their stomach and legs look, uhh, better?

[small]I feel so gay right now...[/small]

i've never noticed an itch ever no matter what i've shaved

actually it started back with the Egyptians or before them. the Romans and Greeks both liked to shave off body hair as well
