This is a very hard moral choice for me. I say he shouldn't be punished... But I just finished eating pancakes. I wish to remain anonymous

What should happen:-
Explained that this is a crime and he should not browse such images, possibly some time with a shrink.

What will happen:-
OMG! PAEDO! CHARGE HIM AS AN ADULT! ITS AN ADULT CRIME!
Much as people tend to do when 2 consenting 15yo have sex the male gets statutory rape and sentenced as an adult.

No, he shouldn't be punished. It's perfectly normal to want to see the opposite gender of your age nude.

Next time, let's punish boys playing doctor games with girls for being child molesters. Wait, stuff like that already happened [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/8692223.stm].

So he looked at nude girls his age? If the girls were forced to pose nude then punish them but punishing a 13 year old boy for looking at a 13 year old girl is just stupid. They're his age and he's obviously attracted to them as puberty tends to start at 12-13. If the buy is going to be punished then by that same logic you have to punish every single underaged teenager that looks at girls/boys his/her age.

He should be given a light punishment, Nothing to severe mind you. Perhaps just an hour or two of Council work or Psychiatric care perhaps.

Why should it be illegal for a 13 year old boy to look at nude 13 year old girls? Like I've said in my previous post, punish the ones that forced the girls to pose nude if there are any. If not, then there's really no problem here.

Psychiatric care?! Are you actually suggesting you send a 13 year old boy going through puberty to a shrink because he looked at girls HIS age?! I guess we should now send teenagers under the age of 18 that had sex to a shrink as well because well fuck me, there's obviously something wrong with them since they disobeyed the law. They're pre-teens. They're going through puberty. Of course they're going to look at naked women. So because this one decided to look at naked girls HIS age he should be punished? By your logic, any 13 year old who thinks of other 13 year olds in a sexual manner is fucking mentally ill. That makes absolutely no sense.

I love them pancakes...

What? Oh! Right... Hm, from a moral, boring kind of viewpoint - yes. From a logical viewpoint - no. He wasn't doing anything wrong he was just being curious. So, I don't see the big deal. The kid's aiming low, if you know what I mean ;d

I'm pretty sure you can't get sentenced for such a thing at that age(under 18) where I live(Canada).

Pro Tip: To save any on your hard drive, cache that shit.
Is the tip from many years of prison gruel and fun friday nights?

Also, tell him the consequences but don't punish him, he would have seen it sooner our later cause of high-school.

He should be punished in full. Because its still illegal because hes under age to be viewing porn none the less.

But yeah i do tottally agree its a very gray area.

I don't know because when i was thirteen I knew I would rather look at girls my own age than the 18 plus porn on the internet. (I wasn't exactly able to find any.) I didn't even know it was illegal until around that age anyway. That was sort of when I had my whole first internet experiences anyway though, so there was a lot of other stuff going on.

Anyways, aside from my personal experience, there's nothing wrong with it from the perspective of the boy looking at girls his own age, but in order for him to find those pictures someone else would have had to have taken them, of underage girls, and that's the frightening part. Also, of course, other people would be able to find them.

The only solution, as far as I could make one up, would be if a girl his own age sent him pictures of her naked which she had taken, but that's a whole other issue.

I think he should be punished. Nothing severe though, just be grounded or not allowed to use a computer for a while. Also be told about the severity of that crime.

As with most juvenile offenses, all he needs a firm slap on the wrist. No need to charge him with a felony and make him register as a sex offender subsequently ruining his life. Take him into court, put him in a holding cell just for a quick taste of what it's like to be trapped then put him on probation for a year with a condition that he can't look at porn.

Should be a misdemeanor at worst, though I don't think there's currently a punishment that light for child porn.

Its illegal, because the fucking law states its illegal, im not condeming the 13 year old boy, but he/his family could get into a shitload of trouble for this.

Please consider thinking logically.
What? Thinking logically? Thinking logically would mean that we would realize that it's goddamn ridiculas to condemn a pubescent teenager just because he looked at girls his own age. Jesus, the Law exists to help protect us; it's surely the responsibility of the governing bodies who decide the law to realize when sense comes into play.

It is illegal to look at Child porn, yes. However, he is also a child! How does it make logical sense to punish him seriously because he thought "I wonder what girls look like naked"?
