I'd keep both consoles as that then keeps you open to a wide range of options in the future when deciding to purchase games. Also I have a question if you hate space-related games then why are you thinking about getting Halo:Reach? I then have to ask the question why do you own a PS3 when a majority of the good FPS are space/futuristic-space styled (e.g.Resistance 1 and 2, Killzone, etc)? In addition I suggest if you like general shooting get a crackdown (lol) game for the xbox 360 or RDR which isn't really a shooter but is very good.

I got an xbox purely because of Halo 3 =P. But then I didn't have a PS3 or anything and stuck to CSS and MMOs. It's mainly because I had lots of friends playing it too though.

If you're finances are not good common sense would dictate you shouldn't "stretch it". Your hobby should never come between having a strong healthy financial situation.

If you must do it I'd suggest buying one used off craigslist provided you make sure by testing that it's not banned or broken. Renting one from Aaron's or rent-a-center for a month would be an effective and quite cheap like $20 or less cheap.

If you want to be shady you can always buy a console from a retail store and simply return it for refund and rent the game. You would need to be particularly careful about returns policy, but from I understand some stores have well worth attempting grace period and liberal policy for returns.

Probably a sign that you shouldn't be on your 4th.

2. Invite a friend over.
3. ???
4. Happy times!

Reach is not worth paying for an xbox. However if you buy some other xbox games on top of that then it would be worth it.

I like halo because of the community, the fact that u can jump online and experience a really decent game with other people whenever u want. As in more of a interest in the multiplayer aspect.

Reasons i hate space is 1 its boring since its infinite, 2 it requires robust and over complicated controls or physics like take deadspace for example its a good game but seriously, the room puzzles where u have to fly around in zero gravity isn't the funnest.

ive played crackdown on 360 before its ok, and not many people played it online. its more of a superhuman comic like way of a game where u can jump on buildings and stuff, not really my thing. also about RDR i hated GTA4 its like rewashed been there done that stuff from GTA3 from 1999 or whenever it released, its boring. ive 100% gta3 on pc ages ago. dont wanna do it again, and also the story is cheesy and makes me totally uninterested. because of that RDR will be similar. and also i dont like the western style cause its old fashioned. Im more into technology none-the-less.

I'm pretty much broke all the time. but if i can survive then its good enough, i rather to spend life having fun then spending it worrying.

And yes maybe im insane but thats just how my feelings are right now.

I shouldve added a poll option of 'Sell the PS3 and stay with PC' since i have like a i7 860 @ 3.6ghz 8gb ddr3 ram 2x gtx 260's etc all parts prolly worth like $4000 AUS off staticice.com.au (which is like newegg but only a search engine, and for australia).

+ all the fans have 4x special screws each and 8 silicon washers, and each one is connected with a 12v to 7v adaptor. which actually cost alot.. like 150ish. just for sound dampening .. lol

That and 2.3tb of anime (391 different anime)

But yea some games suck on PC like deadspace or console ports and not all of them have controller support. So only way to play them decently is with a console. Also having a change from pc to console for gaming is a good thing imo, increases ur experience and skills since u use different input peripherals.

Should you buy an Xbox 360 just for reach? No.

Should you buy an Xbox 360 because it's actually a good fun console with great online features and a good selection of exclusives? Sure. Never buy a console just for one game, especially when that game is Halo. I say buy a 360 if you feel you can afford it and you actually want one for the social aspect and for other games than just Reach, otherwise I wouldn't waste my money. Reach is not that good.

One console for one game? For that reason alone?

Bear in mind, online access will cost you another 50$. But hell, the PS3 takes out 50-100$ in its own price for Internet access... Or at least, that's the theory.
Would make sense, if you think about it.

Anyways, I'd suggest you should get some quality Xbox 360 games with it, and if you can, buy a pack that comes with Halo: Reach AND an Xbox 360... + some random FPS/Sports game.

Yeah I guess RDR is a bit long winded and takes time to complete but I think the story isn't cheesy. Another game I would have suggested also if you got another xbox 360 would be Fable 2 and 3. Fable 2 was a great game and Fable 3 looks set to be better. I would have also suggested Gears Of War 1 and 2 but unless you have friends prepared to play alongside you in MP all the time or buy the All Fronts pack for GOW2 then MP isn't that great due to the long time it takes to connect to a group and then a server. But the single player is good.

You've already had 360s, but sold them in the past due to boredum, so I'm going to assume there are no other games you'd play on it.

It's weird that you mention, but my PS3 has NEVER crashed on me, nor has my 360. I've had my PS3 for going on 3 years now and I've never encountered to much as a curropted data error.

Why are you worried about frame rate comparrisons when you're buying a 360 for an exclusive title? It's not like you're thinking of buying multiple games for the 360 if you get it. Also, what if all your XBOX friends don't play reach? All your comparissons are kind of moot unless you're comparing a non-exclusive title

Do you really think you should fork over all that money just to play a single game?

yea ur right lol im gonna stay with ps3 and if im bored of consoles just stay with pc and sell it off, and about the crashes, what i mean is when im playing a game, mostly happens in bad coded games like MAG for example. it just freezes an repeats the last audio played file over and over and over etc. so u have to hit the power button then it does nothing for 10-15 secs with the picture still on the screen then beeps 3 times and turns off. MAG has alot of bugs and i doubt they will fix them. i can name atleast 10 bugs but i wont.

Its just annoying sometimes cause u do the big 256 player battles that go for 30 mins right and ur ps3 just freezes at like the 5 min mark and ur stats dont get saved and u have to do it all over again.

another bad thing with the ps3 is when it loads programs it constantly reestablishes the sound output like 4 or 5 times or something and makes crackling/popping noises, not very loud but still noticeable.

but yea i like MAG alot it requires alot more skill to snipe, however some servers are laggy since u dont allways get to a aus server(if they even still exist). its actually hard to measure the lag since its mostly all the same.

I live in tasmania a small island below australia i get about 60-80ms ping to Australia, 300-500ms to america.

Not JUST for Reach but XBL is a great network and the Xbox still has good exclusives. I'd get it, but unless you have a huge library for PS3, I'd sell that to recoup the costs.

I am a 360 owner for the last 2 years and someone who bought a ps3 about 4 weeks ago because I desperately wanted to play the exclusives. (completed MGS4, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 - currently playing Demon's Soul's)

*NOTE: This is my OPINION, please no flaming me. If you can't take critisism of your console, read no further*

I have to say that I much prefer the Xbox, though this is probably to do with me being used to it as well, I can safely say that the interface is better and social side of things as well. Also, the multi-plat games tend to run a hell of a lot better on it as well. Plus, Achievements > trophies.

PS3 exclusives are amazing, so I'm glad I bought it. Though they're not any better than some of the 360 ones E.G. Halo Reach, Gears, MASS EFFECT, etc.

So, I'd say buy the 360, flog your ps3 games to recoup the costs. And if you can afford it keep the ps3 for any exclusives that come out. And buy the multiplats for which ever you prefer.

If I run incredibly short of money in the future and I have to sell a console, I'd sell the ps3.

Hope this helps.

1.no, don't buy a console for a game.
2.Actually 360 crashes far more often (Notorious since launch) than PS3 (don't think iv'e ever heard of it doing so. ever.)
3. Aren't there other Halo games for 360? If so, if u haven't considered paying for a 360 just for Those games, who says This one will be good?
4. You can try to find a friend who has a 360 and play Halo reach that way.
