If you haven't already gotten an X360 for a Halo game, why start now?

Now that MS has lost most of their worthwhile exclusives, there isn't much reason to have one unless you're interested its old exclusives (Mass Effect, etc.)

2.Actually 360 crashes far more often (Notorious since launch) than PS3 (don't think iv'e ever heard of it doing so. ever.)
Not in my experience. I've owned two of each, and have found that PS3 crashes are FAR more frequent than X360 crashes, not to mention that my second PS3 was to replace one that died after two years, while my second X360 was simply an upgrade over one I'd had for three. But all this illustrates is that everyone will have a different experience, and you can't just say that one breaks more than the other.

Never buy a console for one game. If the 360 has many games besides Reach that you want or will want in the future, then get a 360. Buying a console for one game is foolish, because once you grow tired of it, then you'll have an unused console just laying around.

Wow. I have all the consoles(and my precious PC *cuddle*) and honestly, I can say that I've seen just as many generic pieces of garbage on PS3 as 360 and PC. Dozens of samey and so-so cookie cutter shooters have come out on all platforms, pegging the 360 as the antagonist of the bunch is a bit harsh and overly extreme.

the only time i have not regretted buying a system for one game is when i got a PlayStation 1 for FF7, but at the time the only competition was N64 and i think its safe to say that was teh right decision. i do however own both an x box and PS3 and i can honestly say i play my ps3 everyday or at least turn it on and i have just got my xbox back form being shipped away because of the red rings. i have turned it on once since i got it back, and it was only to set it up with all my old info. watch Zero punctuation on halo reach...

I really don't think so... if you sold the last four you have, then it is clear you don't take these things in for the long haul.

Do you have a friend with a Xbox and Reach? Just go and play split screen with them. That is where Halo is at it's best anyway.

I would go ahead and get the 360, but not for a single title or series.

Uncharted and Demon's Souls are the only reason I'd want a PS3, but I'm not gonna pay 300 bucks for basically two games.

Nor should you. Do some more research, find some more games that you'd like on 360, and then consider this again.

BTW, I <3 me some REACH.

But no one game is worth the price of a console.

I'm quite poor however i can efford both if i stretch it, or sell 1.

i've previously had 3 xbox 360's but sold them all due to boredom lol.
I'm good with money and I think I may have figured out why you're poor.
Seriously?

If you're not joking, I have some serious facepalming to get started on.

After all these years the console decision still comes down to the same things: would you rather have a solid machine that gets crappy support or would you rather get a crappy machine that gets solid support. If you really are concerned about money I would go with the former because you don?t have to pay a regular fee for online. However, considering your friends are on the other console (and it sounds like you can afford it), it might be worth it to pay the monthly fee to play online with them while also doing simple things like chatting with friends playing other games (so the question really is how much do you like your friends?) or playing your own music on any game you like. However, if you play games every day, you may be disappointed when you have to send it back if/when it breaks. The thing about the console you have now is that it?s really good and has the potential to do a lot but with the kind of support it gets we end up losing more features than we get and the features we get are really lame and/or poorly supported. For example: It can also play your own music in games but only with a handful of games; it can browse the web but will probably freeze up in a couple of mins. That?s the kind of thing I mean.

So in other words, I?ve been pretty disappointed in the consoles this generation. Sure they?ve both tried to squeeze in a bunch of new features but they both did so really poorly and all they really ended up doing was make things too damn expensive. Most of my friends still don?t even have a next gen console and I can?t blame them.

In conclusion: stick with what you got because the other one wont make you any happier. Just pick up some good shooters like Warhawk.

Depends how much you really want Reach. It's apparently fun, according to critics and Harsh Critics. Do what you want.

First create a list of games you want for the 360.
Then add up the cost of the PS3, it's games and any accessories you own for it.

If the cost of the 360 games is more than everything you have for the Ps3, then get yourself a 360 and keep the ps3.
If the cost of the 360 games you want is less than all the stuff combined for the ps3, wait until the cost is greater than before you buy a 360.
Doing it the mathematical way you can not go wrong. Do the math!

Sorry but I'd never think that because someone replies in two personalities means he has Multiple Personality Disorder. That's quite a serious thing you know. Besides, how can someone with such a cute avatar be mentally ill?

I'm not a sadist, and i treat everyone equally regardless if their 90 years old, 10 years old, blind, type of race, size, or have any disorders or diseases. I just thought it was quite rare for someone to imitate 2 people in a single post.

If you're going to buy it just for Halo Reach, it isn't worth it.
I mean if there are other exclusives that you want to buy, by all means do so.

yea and i dont have any other games that i want to play on xbox 360, Mass effect 2? rather play it on PC, Gears of War? im sorry but unreal engine's 3 network coding is complete fail and is the biggest lagfest ever created, so much that since i live in aus all the servers are american and i get half a second delay, totally unplayable. halo seems to be the only game coded well enough to try and remove lag. Also i finished Fable 1 ages ago in like 13 hours and it was mediocore, been there done that, i didnt like it. As for forza motorsport, it is too much simulation and just lacked fun compared to GT1/2 also didnt have much damage modeling and too much assist like that lined path thing which took away the challenge.

As for the rest of 360 exclusives i can get a better experience by just playing them on PC.

so yes its pretty much just 1 game that im interested in. and i thank you guys for replying to this post cause im sure alot of people will google the same thing.

I'm staying with PS3, byebye Halo! lol

EDIT: another comment on UT3 Engine, even with 80ms servers in UT3 itself the lag is very noticeable and effects gameplay somewhat.

after watching all console war video rounds from: http://www.technobuffalo.com/blog/gaming/console-wars-flashback-round-12-the-finale/

i decided to buy a 360 and halo and use my bros 30 games and cousins 100+ when i move in and because all my friends use 360 aswell, and also since i dont like the ps3 exclusives. sure it costs more but its worth it.

And imo 360 vs ps3, when u want a gaming console u would want it for gaming, and 360 excels at that compared to the ps3, however for the most features for ur cash the ps3 wins, also it wins as a media center mainly because of its blu ray drive.

Also why would i want a ps3 for blu ray when i can do all that on my PC? doesnt make sense.

so as a game console in general the xbox wins imo.

Make sure u watch all the rounds from technobuffalo

Buying a new console for ONE game is the perfected, inalienable recipe for intense disappointment.

So no. Don't.
