well, driving games are best with other people, so you have the free PSN, which has little customization, but is free, or the priced XBL, with is very customizable, but comes at a cost. if you like RPS more then shooters, then PS3 that shit, but if you like shooty shooty bang bang, then add a little Xbox360 to your diet.

It all depends man. Online multiplayer wins top spot for X-box. More bang for your buck as a movie player for PS3. They share for games since most big games go on either console, and each have there own hit exclusive titles.

If online with friends isn't the main reason for your purchase, I say go with the PS3. The games are beginning to ascertain the quality that PS3 can reach, the hardware is realiable (I have heard good things about the newer xbox models, but even a 1/4 of them red ringing in a year is complete garbage if you ask this two time red ringed gamer), and it still accomodates online multyplayer, which is free to boot...it's just not as many people use it as Xbox for online gaming.

It's up to you, but if you have the money, might aswell splurge for a decent blueray player in my opinion. Mine still is going strong as my movie player and game player for atleast 3 years strong.

It's kind of what major games you want more.

The Halo games, Mass Effect games, Crackdown 1 and 2 and Prototype vs Resistance, Killzone, In Famous, and God of War, to name a few from each side. (Don't even get me started on LittleBigShit)
I would personally go for the 360 because of Halo and Mass Effect, but on the other hand I just recently bought my own PS3 and can't call it bad by any means.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.
There is a Crackdown 2?!
My friend only bought that game for a Halo 3 Beta or whatever and I actally REALLY liked that game for the few hours it took to beat it.
Oh MAN.
Littlebigplanet is not my thing, Heavy rain isn't my thing, but really...What does Ps3 have going for it besides God of War and Infamous? Killzone2 is mediocre, and Resistance is pretty fun, but. Are there any other real GEMS on the Ps3?

On Xbox you can play your own music in every game, which I think is a great thing for racing games. Also the xbox has Trials HD which is the best 2D motorcross racing game of all time.

Wow, I didn't know that. Can you not do this with the Ps3?

I don't own either, but I will emphasize one strong point: Whereas Xbox Live costs money monthly so they can run game servers that-....what? Oh, hang on....-So that their PLAYERS can run ad-hoc game servers, PlayStation Network does not cost anything. It could be said that overall XBL has more to offer, but it all depends on how much you're going to use.

If you're a PC gamer, you should get a PS3. Most of the good "exclusives" on the 360 are on PC as well. This is coming from someone who loves his 360 and does not have a PS3.

It would of been Uncharted 2 but after playing God of War 3 I've been blown away by it.

I am considering just getting a Ps3 because I do know that a lot of the 360 games also come on the PC, but I just... I love the Xbox controller so much...

Could it be? An 360 vs PS3 thread in disguise? Buzhuh?

I say 360 though, I love my 360. She's a beauty.

Save your money and buy lots of cheese, it's more satisfying and tastes infinitely better.

First off, pick the console with teh control you find most comfortable, it spends alot of time in your hand.

Secondly, is it going to be an entertainment system , or solely a games console, because both add a variety of other functions one which may suit you beter than the other.

Thirdly, if its just a games console, which console exclusives appeal to you more?

Fourth, Each have different interfaces and also each has its own online service, have a look at both and make your judgements based on what you see.

Fifth, what do the majority of your gaming friends have? As I assume you'll want to be playing games with them at some point (forgive me if I'm mistaken) and online multiplay is a massive function these days

Once you answer those questions you know the answer. Only your opinion really matters because we can't tell you what you'd like more

Ps3 can`t do this.

Games I like on Xbox, (only exclusive of course)

Crackdown, Amped, Dead or Alive, Halo, Dead Rising, Over G(my special taste), Project Sylpheed, Virtua Fighter with online, Trials HD, PGR, Perfect Dark 64, Gears of War 2 (not 1), Fable, Hitman, Ninja Gaiden with blood, Mass effect, Lost Planet (there was a PS3 version but noone played it)
That`s all I can think of right now. I have more than 100 games for 360 and which I actually think are good.

Games I like on PS3
Infamous and Motorstorm 2

And I don`t know where you live but here in Germany the 360 has a limited price drop right now.

I have both, and I've had them for a few years, and I honestly have to say (hold up flame shield) I've generally preferred my PS3. Functionality, free online features, and some very, very good exclusives. Don't get me wrong, I've loved some of the Xbox 360 exclusives, especially Mass Effect (though that is also on PC, and my PC could handle it, so I wouldn't be missing out much if I didn't have a 360).

I also found Xbox Live to be a frustrating experience, due to the adolescent nature of the players, so I cancelled my subscription. PS3 also feels like it has a lot more evolving to do, I mean it's the only console with Blu-Ray support, and you can tell this is made fantastic use of with exclusive titles (such as MGS4, God of War 3 and Uncharted 2).

Also, I don't know whether this will clinch it, but I'm also a big PC player too. RPG's and FPS games, just like you.

Most definitely not! XD

I'm kind of leaning more on the Xbox right now. But this really is a hard decision. :/

i'm a PC gamer personally so my points are objective. You need to ask yourself what console most of your friends play on, that would be one of the main factors for me, and probably the only one that would sway me more towards a Xbox 360.

If your not bothered about exclusive titles then it is pritty simple. The Xbox 360's HD drive is usless as they don't manufacture them anymore. If your a fan of film then Blu Ray is the future so 1 point to the PS3.

The PS3's internet is free and the community is generally regarded as better than Xbox live, so another point to the PS3.

Last is price, I'm not sure of this so you will have to look it up.

Like I said if I wanted a console I would go for the PS3.

You might want to consider a PC as an option, They act as a gaming systen, DVD player, Music system and internet all in one as well as something to work on if you need to. With all that considered they are an economically viable option.

You have some great points. I do know that the Xbox does share some of its major titles with the PC, and i've played Mass Effect and a few other Xbox ports like Gears of War 1 (Which was a fucking TERRIBLE port). I just really do enjoy the 360 a lot, and a few of my friends had them when I lived in the states and they were great for the LAN parties.

The only reason i'd get the PS3 is for some of the games, and I guess for the Bluray. I LOVE God of War, and Infamous is an amazing game.

It's just really hard to choose being a PC gamer and knowing i'd get some of the Xbox games for PC, and then not be able to touch the Ps3 exclusives at all. :/
