I'll say no, because I believe there's a lot more fun to be had with Oblivion. get it instead. Fallout's shorter, browner, more depressing, has no magic, not as much to do and it has a really stupid Karma system, coupled with bugs that make you want to eat your keyboard. Not a bad game, but don't BUY it.

It is a second rate game that is better to rent than to buy. People say that there is plenty to do but I disagree, it was a game that couldn't attract me (even though I beat it) and it wasn't the greatest of Bethesda games.
did you do anything beside the main quest?
I did every side quest I could find, I am not saying it is a bad game, I am just saying, in my opinion, that it is a game that I would rather rent or borrow from a friend. *which is what I did XD*.

But after I beat the game I could not play it again, I just felt like "Wow, thats it?"

I do suggust Oblivion though :D.
Yhea, oblivion is a great game, but I like the quest layout in FO3 much more. There is more to do, the feeling of completing a qust is much more rewarding and the overall senario is just very immersive.. Oblivion lacks the vararity and compelling independant quest lines that Fo3 offers... but that's just my opinion, and just for the word, I spend 200+ hours on both games :)

Despite the fact that I can make a list longer than myself of all the games flaws, oddly enough I would still recommend it. Despite some glaringly stupid and terrible aspects, the game is still fun, which when it comes down to it, is one of the most important aspects of a game. Just dont play for an engaging main plot otherwise youll be majorly disappointed. Play instead for an experience where you are willing to use your imagination a little. Despite what some people say, this doesnt deserve to be ranked among the truly great games of all time (nowhere near actually), but let it never be said that it doesnt at least deserve a place in your collection.

The DLC? Well thats a bit more wishy washy. Since they all cost the same, buy Point Lookout and Broken Steel if youre actually thinking about it. The other two (potentially three) by comparison are a fucking rip-off.

I do have to admit that the main story of fallout was good, but it was too short for my liking. Oblivion may lack variety compared to fallout but in comparison Oblivion had 12304981203498 times of things to do *i just bashed on the number keyboard*. Oblivion had better sidequests and more of them too. But I say everybody has the right to agree to disagree.

^^ I found like 2313142432352342354 *keyboard bashing* side questest in FO3 and Im not nearly done with the game. The vararity is far superior, the voice acting is better and people seems to care about who you are evolving into... oblivion just Shun you every now and then by making the poor NPC's blabering something about your deeds.. It just dosent fit worthy for a game that superior to anything I have ever played, besides Morrowind ofc :)

I'd definatly say 'yes' but I'd wait until October when they release the Game Of The Year version with the DLC included otherwise you need to pay $10 a pop, even with the PC. What's more even as a PC user you need to link into the "games for windows" thing and then buy microsoft points (the same ones from XBL) to buy and DL the content.

I wasn't especially please by this, and I think that while this game is a "must play" it's also better to wait at this point to save yourself a headache.

It's my favorite game of the current generation.

It isn't perfect, but it is a lot of fun.
That said, you should wait a couple of months for the GOTY edition as it will fix one of the worst parts of the game (the ending) and will (overall) be a better value.

Bit late for that now.

You should get it. It's one of the best titles of the year and proved to me that shooters CAN have tactical depth (perks and all that). The DLC helps if you're willing to go that far but I haven't found the money to put into expansion packs. That and I kinda got scared off when I watched a friend beat Operation: Anchorage in 4 hours. I'm sure later expansions have longer length though.

Has nobody noticed that I've already said that I've bought it?
