I didn't have a date for prom, yet I still went anyways. Mine wasn't that fun, but the only thing I lost was a night of video gaming.

I say do it maybe, maybe find some guys you know who else are unsure and then you all go to the prom stag and pick up chicks at the prom. Plus its a great way to finish the year something worth wild huh? Or like me buddy up with a girl whos a friend and go with them if you both cant get dates.

You should go.

We don't have prom here, and we don't take dates to formal school held things, but I gotta say that my Year 12 graduation was amazingly fun. We all got blitzed and danced barefoot.

The only thing you want to be careful of is afterparties. Go to good ones. Not ones that have your douchebag friends having emotional breakdowns and then getting drunk enough to roll around in broken glass.

Yep, it's been 5 years and I am still annoyed with how my after party went down.

I heard from two differnt people who went to prom where one, who was more outgoing, had a blast, while the other, who thinks a fun night is a night with WOW, who was bored. It all depend on if you are outgoing and if you like to dance and have good company.

Yeah, go. I missed my own senior prom and went to a friend's as his date. It made me really regret missing mine, as I thought for sure I would've hated it. Instead, I had a blast. And if I were that girl, getting stood up would for the high school prom would be pretty awful. It's the type of thing a girl might seek revenge for come your 20th reunion. You'll have forgotten all about it, but she'll have spent the past 20 years figuring out how to make you pay. Don't think we remember stuff that long? I still know the name of the jerk who spilled glue in my hair in the third grade. If there's an elementary school reunion, I'm going...and I'm bringing glue.

Well i think you should go, but don't be that guy that kind of walks around and feels lonely despite all the people around. The girl your bringing, out of common courtesy don't be the other guy the one that expects something at the end of the night even with a friend. And definitaley don't be that other guy that gets pissed at the girl he brought just because she starts dancing with other poeple. My prom was last week and i had a blast despit i was hanging out with people i had just met and you get to stay out late and yes get wasted at the after prom party somewhere... I didn't because everybody said there would be road blocks up everywhere and that cops would be looking for the parties not a cop out that night but we still didn't go. Go do it!

Yeah, you've got a date, you can't back out now.

I enjoyed not going to mine. I hooked up with a bunch of mates. We played Mortal Kombat all night before going on a marathon Streets of Rage all nighter.

If you got a girl to go with, you'd better run the course and show up, No one likes a guy who doesn't stick to his plans, especially when said person was expecting a prom date.

I never went to mine, mainly because i'm in england where the prom isn't a major feature in school-life, in fact they'd only just started bothering with them when I was ready to leave school.

But the idea of it just didn't strike me as worthwhile. I've not heard anything to prove me wrong on that, but then again this is an ENGLISH prom I'm talking about.
(Although saying that I have no indication of your age or country of origin)

But mainly like I said already, if you made a commitment to go with someone, don't want to be disappointing.

Go, you might actually have fun with your friends.
If it really sucks no one is stopping you from leaving.
We actually have to stay until it ends (9-midnight)

Yeah, I'ld go. Just stay away from people who start drama, Prom attracts drama like a mosquito lamp. People think they can act like a Dick because its the end of school.

I also agree about the date, I'ld be pissed if my date backed out. Kinda Dick-like.

I wanted to go to my prom so I could hit the parties. Drinking Smirnoff in a tux=awesomeness. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to buy a ticket.
If you don't go, do something crazy that night and enjoy yourself.

If you told a girl you'd take her, backing out now is what we call a dick move.
The thing is, it's actually one of my friend's cousin's friend (one of my other friends is taking the cousin). We don't go to the same school, and we actually don't even know each other and I haven't even talked to her.
