When is the last time a US soldier took a bullet for his country? WW2? Beyond that they take bullets for their own stupidity. I already made the distinction between real "fight to defend our country" soldiers and the idiots who sign up just to get involved with shit that does not concern their country.
A few mishaps? When one of your "mishaps" is putting Saddam in power in the first place then yeah, I am gonna make a big deal of it. Yanks make a big deal about the wholetwin tower thing yet we are expected to write off the US military bombing afghanistan hospitals as a "mishap"
Besides, janitors just do one of the most degrading, under paid, thankless and important jobs around. Without janitors hospitals would be disease centers. Whens the last time you called him a hero or even thanked him?
And goddamn everything from cops to construction workers to truckers dont know if they are gonna come home tonight. There are plenty of hazardous jobs out there. Soldiering is just one more of them.
You should be ashamed for being so goddamn thankless to the true unsung heroes who actually make your life fucking livable.

You realize people sign up for reasons other than "to get involved with shit that does not concern their country?" I'm not condoning what the U.S. does or what SOME soldiers do and I certainly don't think they are all special or heroes, but some of them definitely are. SOME of them are doctors, you know? Some are janitors, even. Some are teachers and everything else under the sun. Hating on an entire group of people because of the actions of a few is the definition of prejudice. Not ALL soldiers blow up hospitals, after all. This is all coming from a former U.S. Army soldier, by the way. I got out because I didn't agree with some of the things they asked me, but that doesn't call for the irrational hatred of an entire group of people.

OK so just the other day I was on my computer. I dont remember what I was doing so it must not have been important, but thats beside the point. Any way so I am on my computer when I hear this weird noise come from outside my house. So I look outside and there is this 12 year old looking kid on the ground with a skate board next to him on the ground crying. So I think ok he must have fallen off his skate board. So I push my chair back to go help him. But then a group of 5 year olds comes out of no where, and just start like kicking the shit out of him, and I just immediately start laughing like crazy. Like they were just like jumping up and down on him. This happened 3 days ago and Ive been wondering am I a bad person for this? Secondly should I have done something?

I'm a HUGE pacifist and moralist and anti-war-alyst, so I would have gotten really serious and first taken a picture to show as evidence to the police and as proof to the forum cough cough and second, gone out there and tackled one of them, pinning him to the ground so that the cops could ask him who his buddies were when I got them to drive out there.

I always take fighting very, very seriously and always report the fighters to the cops. I also always get witnesses and proof together, like videos or pics on my phone, since it has its super-duper infinity giga-pixel camera.

5 year olds beating up a 12 year old? He derserves it for being too much of a wuss to get up and beat them down himself (assuming he didn't break anything). Besides, it was a skater punk. Skateboards haven't been cool in years, so he also deserves it for being so far behind the times.

Being serious now, I wouldn't have done anything either so who am I to judge? How many here would have actually done something? It is easy to say you would do something after the fact, but not so easy to actually back up your words. Just like if I say I saw someone get robbed at gunpoint. Many would say they would have tried to stop the mugger, but no one really would.

Odd, you say that you would defend the helpless kid but hate on soldiers (when many fight to protect those being abused. And, no, I'm not saying that's the only thing that they do.) Anyways, I would say that he should have helped the kid out as well.

Spoiler: Because:

A) A slight scuffle is way different to shooting innocents, bombing hospitals and raping defenseless women.
B) These kids know that they are being assholes. They do not actually go to bed at night thinking they are good people.
C) The rest of society would admit these kids are assholes. The main reason I honestly hate soldiers is that the morons in our society praise them so much. Call them heroes. Act as if what they are doing somehow makes them better than anyone else.
It ruins what being a hero actually is. Not to mention that doctors, teachers, parents struggling to provide for their children, hell even janitors who do a disgusting job to help the rest of us are all more heroic then those brutes.
If people would stop mindlessly praising them and just treat them as what they are, a bunch of people doing a hazardous and crappy job with a moron for a boss, then I could at least tolerate them but I will be damned before I call a bunch of violent brutes "heroes" when they do nothing to help society.
And yes, I do make a distinction between real men and women who are drafted to actually defend their homelands and those who sign up to go over and fuck with poor people in the middle east.

All right, if you're going to accuse soldiers of bombing hospitals and raping women, you should give examples, otherwise, it's just hate speech. If I had to guess, I'd say one soldier did something you didn't like so you've been taking it out on all soldiers ever since. They are praised for fighting for what they believe in while they rest of society sits by and does nothing. Doctors have more than enough $ to pay for their kids. I do agree that teachers should be paid more but I would also like to add that many veterans now homeless as well. So, life's not easy for them either. Many that I knew were orphans or came from poverty and enlisted to better themselves, not to become thugs. I don't understand you're enlisted vs draftees opinion. A draftee is more of a hero than somebody who enlisted without being forced? See, that makes me believe more that you're just angry at one soldier and, like a racist, are taking it out on the rest of them.

Looks like you had a case of shadenfreude, you took pleasure in the misfortune of another. I know that 5 year olds pounding on an injured 12 year old is random, but why didn't you chase them off and see what was wrong with the kid and then get the appropriate help. Then again, those were five year olds, so the injuries won't be that bad, but he was already in pain from whatever skateboard related accident he had. Still that was a dick move man and this story sounds fake, but I'll give you the benifit of the doubt.
