Smartly, you got off one stop early, walked back, caught him from behind and through him off a ten story balcony, right?letsnoobtehpwns said:To an extent, yes. It's ok if you use lol, wtf, omg or any else like those. I remember I was once giving my intelligent opinion on Obama and Socialism and I wrote the word "to" instead of "too" so some Grammar Nazi quickly detected my spelling error and slapped a dunce cap on me and tossed me into a short bus heading to the Special Olympics.
Mine too...dude, the people that tell you that crap don't understand the words "aesthetically pleasing"!hopeneverdies said:My eyes, they burnAschenkatza said:Yes, but just to screw with your head...

Spell check doesn't replace a solid educational foundation in writing.cainx10a said:Considering that spell check utilities are readily available with modern web browsers; everyone should try their best to use it, and even proofread our posts as a last resort.
This.Reaperman Wompa said:They should use an acceptable level of both of them, but it's not a necessity for every post to go through hours of editing, it's rude to try and force others match a rather over the top set of expectations, though again it's also disrespectful to show up with something best described as an alien language.
I read that perfectly fine, but to be honest, I never see people spell like that. It's normally just a few mistakes, like a letter left out or switched.Aschenkatza said:Yes, but just to screw with your head...

That's essentially what I said a page back (including being an English major), so I agree completely. People should always work towards whatever shortcomings they may have, and put effort into their work. But to expect everybody to be on a level playing field when it comes to language is ridiculous to me.NewClassic said:As an English major, the answer to this is obviously going to be "Hey guys, use a bit more grammar from time to time. Please?"
The problem is I don't ask for constant proper grammar or spelling. I have no hate for folks who mind concluding sentences with prepositions, or making obscure but functional use of sentence fragments. It honestly depends entirely on how well it works in application.
Ah, I'm sad I missed that. Well said, none the less.runtheplacered said:That's essentially what I said a page back (including being an English major), so I agree completely. "Effort" is the key word here.
Now, that was mean. I don't spell like this and I take great pride in my spelling. This whole paragraph was copy/pasted, that's why it's in quotes.RAKtheUndead said:You irritate me.
