Problem is, they effectively don't have such a rating at all since stores simply refuse to stock AO titles, with the extension that major companies refuse to make them. AO is such a death sentence that Rockstar re-released GTA: SA to remove content that wasn't actually in the game just so it wouldn't have the AO sticker on it.New Troll said:

The reason stores enforce ratings is because parents these days are so eager to sue. It's so much cheaper for a store to refuse to sell a 16 year old a copy of GTA than to pay a million dollars to the upset parent of that teenager thanks to the messed up justice system who looks down on big business.Vuljatar said:
I don't think that's necessarily so; it's more of a PR thing. Wal-Mart is worried by the connotations of 'Adults Only' titles because it's a term which carries implications of pornographic content; it's usually seen with 'XXX' right below it, and that's hardly the image the company wants to project. 'Mature' has far fewer seedy connotations, and retailers might actually be persuaded into stocking 'Mature' titles, regardless of what the term is actually used to represent.New Troll said:
